As a fellow atheist I just want to say your a shitty person. A lie of omission is still a lie and trust me it will come back to kick you in your useless nuts. One lie makes every truth look like a lie. And if you have to ask the question. Is it wrong? It most likely is and you know it.

Having said all that, if you go ahead with this and get to know her better, you may find that she's just as interested as you, and her Christianity is just a façade she keeps up because of family or social pressure. As long as you head off for your first date with the assumption that nothing whatsoever will happen and you're honest with her about your lack of faith and how you let your mutual friend believe what he wanted about you, that seems fine to me. But don't be surprised if she reacts badly and sees it as you lying to him. You also shouldn't be surprised if your mutual friend is equally unimpressed.
