That i age slowly?

My family are slow agers, and so are some others I have read around here. There already is a thread about slow aging. So I decided to make an online survey, a short one, only 13 questions. It would be very cool if all of you slow aging people could fill it in. With each question you can vote for as many options as fit your situation. Please be honest.

Age isn't to do with time (years) but more specifically how long a person's telomeres are on the end of their DNA and cellular senescence.

Yes, researchers recommend cardio exercise to help one keep relatively long telomeres.

Think about it. If 'age' was correlated with time, that would mean everybody would age at the same rate, and everybody would die at the same age. We know that isn't the case. Therefore, it's pretty evident that people age at different rates with various other factors involved.

No it is true, I was studying the link between telomerase and cancer over the past year. A cancer cell is immortal because it can regenerate it's telomeres. The cells in the human body slowly lose their telomere length which is technically what causes aging. I've just completed a masters degree in biomedical science.

And there is a theory that if we switched on telomerase in every human cell then technically that person could live a lot longer than 120 years, which is roughly the maximum age a human can reach.

This looks suspicious. Why do you want to know all our personal info?

I look about 10 years younger, just turned 35, male. More recently my age peers have really started to accelerate in terms of their ageing and I feel more and more out of place. My late teens and early twenties were actually ok as everyone looked relatively young. On the whole, I have a myriad of the usual stories to tell of disrespect, being treated with contempt or simply ignored. To anyone not affected, imagine wearing a mask of a different person, the person that people perceive, but being a completely different person underneath. The real killer is that the person people perceive is a youngster with little experience, knowledge or anything, while underneath hides a grown man with a wife and successful career. I am effectively disabled and class myself as such. With my condition I am unable to participate in normal society. The real downer is that deep down I have a positive, confident and generally happy and extrovert character. Tragically, by the way people typically treat me, my condition has made me bitter, confrontational, introvert and generally withdrawn from society. My life would be essentially ruined would it not be for my beautiful wife, who takes me for who I am !! I am so lucky :) My agelessness is definitely abnormal and all I would wish for is to simply fit in with the rest of society, not too much to ask in my book. Medical/genetic reserach needs to be undertaken into this abnormality.

Hello. I also age very slowly. I am 52 and people think i am about 30.
Your feelings compare almost to mine.
I am not married. I can't.I don't match to others.
By me isn't only the outside that looks very young, but also the inside and behavior that fits to me.
My fysical performance is very extreem.also my intelligance iq.
But my e-q is very low. that's because i didn't grow up with the others from my age.
      I am a loner.
I see the feelings of others, but they can't see mine.
My english maybe not so good. Thats because i am a dutchman.
I am not a unhappy person in life.

      greetings from holland
