That people on the internet are so harsh?

They are not so brave face to face

Anonymity brings out the worst in people, basically. On the other hand people can be brutally honest about you and your situation - sometimes in a helpful way, sometimes in a hurtful way. Something you rarely experience in real life, at least I don't. Either way it's one of the great things about ze interwebs in my opinion.

I think you answered your own question there...People hide behind the screen so they can say EXACTLY what they want. They can be the cruelest or the nicest people whenever they so choose because No one can SEE them, therefore they don't feel like they are being judged directly. People can be so apathetic towards one another, it's really very ugly. What happened to a little compassion. When given the opportunity people seem to lean towards more negative endeavors. [sarcasm-->]Shows how evolved we are -__-

Don't take anything on the Internet too seriously. It's where people go to speak their minds, and damn the consequences. Often times, it's where nineties kids and atheists go to rant. Other times, it's where Christians and white supremacists go to meet up. A lot of people are just trolls. Just live and let live, and things'll turn out fine.

And you think its just on the internet? you have a lot to learn.

I think the people who get bent out of shape about it are actually kinda control-freakish.

Sort of like the internet is one giant bridge.

I think the Internet would be a much nicer place without trolls. But just talking about trolls gives them self satisfaction and they touch themselves if someone even replies to them. Sad if you ask me, but what do I know.....?

You answered your own question in the question :) people are harsh online because they know there will be no repurcusions and because they can't act like that in real life. It's nothing to do with people online being afraid to say it to your face, why would they? If everyone acted like they did online the world would be an even shittier place than it is right now. Be thankful that people don't act like they do online to your face :)

I hate people like that... they wouldn't say it to your face, its just cause they feel more confident on the internet as there isn't really and consequences :/

It's stupid. I mean the stuff they say is never funny and that's the reasonthe post it right? To be funny and have a laugh. But these peopl on IIN are asking if things they do r normal. And many times they r very serious topics and some retard will post some bs because they r ignorant assholes

Yeah. There are quite alot of them. Some I have noticed that, that's all they post are hurtful things. They are very immature I guess and think it's cute. They don't have a life and think their hurtful cuteness is funny.

I really wish I could punch them in the face. It like an old saying "if you don't anything good to say don't say it at all."
But in reality these people who say mean things online don't have any self confidents (idc if spelled wrong) so thy pick on people they know can't find them. It's kinda something we need to learn to ignore and their childish behavor to feed on itself.
