The corner coffee shop! with perverts.....?

I work a part time job at a coffee shop. I'm only sixteen so, you know still have to go to school right? Anyway, it's a small cafe that specializes in lattes, coffee and small treats like muffins and banana bread and stuff like that. It's on a small corner of a street where many people come to, I serve people there drinks and food so basically a waiter. Seems like an alright job right? Well....sometimes...I'm the only female in the staff, I feel underpaid...I get ten dollars and hour and I work for two in the mornings then after school from three till six and I work on both weekends, and to make it worst almost every week this same small group of men come and make inappropriate jokes towards me whenever I serve them...let's just say it sounds like they want to get in my pants....yeah...I don't know what to do! Quit or what? I'm collecting money to buy my friend a expensive birthday gift, travel around the world, buy things for myself and all that stuff. I've worked there for about six months..what to do!

If you feel threatened your employer has a responsibility to provide a safe working environment. You should bring up the issue with him.

Funny how one tends to always think of an authority figure as being a "him"

She said she was the only female member of staff. I'm going to assume her statement was including everyone who works in the cafe including the boss.

10$/hour is not worth the trouble. Buying your friend an expensive birthday gift isn't an issue to be worked up about.
And if you really want to travel the world, 10$/hour for the rest of your life won't cut it(You know that, right?). I don't mean to be rude, just practical. If you're 16, your time is more valuable than you may think. Try to spend it on your education(I can't believe I sound like a 40 year old middle school teacher).

And about those perverts....Unless your employer is a very nice guy he won't take any actions that might harm his business in any way, cause a small coffeeshop doesn't have much of a business to begin with. Quitting seems like your best option. Try to look for a job in department stores they're much safer.

I don't know what to tell you. I applaud your efforts for getting a job, but perhaps you should give up the job and focus on your education instead. If you don't get a good education you might be working for $10.00 an hour your entire life.
Your grammar and punctuation and spelling are pretty bad, and then some. Language skills are rather important for most careers, and yours aren't very good.
You should work on your education first, then get a good paying job, and then travel around the world and buy things.

Tell your boss about it and document it. If the boss doesn't do something about it, SUE !!! Your employer is required to provide a safe work environment especially for a 16 year girl! After you win the suite you can buy that nice gift and pay for a good education.

as a part time job that's okay but you're getting paid minimum wage and anyone who respects themselves would get out of there when a better opportunity came their way. And if you don't like the environment there you should consider that too.

I was just commenting on what kind of creeps loiter around local businesses. Including a guy I call the Starbucks Creeper who lounges at Starbucks all day and leers at women while putting his feet on the chairs. I recommend anonymously reporting them to the cops cause most places have laws against loitering.
