I've recently received an android tablet and have spent an increasing amount of time surfing the web and now I'm thinking of visiting the deep web, I understand some of the seedier aspects of it and I'm not interested in it I just think it'd be interesting to see the hidden internet, the iceburg under the tip you see
However I know nothing about technology, I know to download tor to access the deep web and I know accessing it is perfectly legal, I worry about hackers etc, so this is my question, am I safe checking the deep web out on an android tablet with a basic antivirus like avg? Anything I should know about the deep web and is it normal that I'm interested in checking it out?

    Oh and mostly information about deep web can be found by searching in russian language.

    You can view deep web sites, where you can download free music, movies that are just released etc. But that can also be done with shallow web. You can wiev deep web sites by using onion. But most of the onion. sites are for invited users and if not they are hidden under proxys that are made from hundreds of random symbols and numbers. Like sdaf93^%$#sdf83rw3@R#fw4FEW$T$#VDf432Ff.onion.com and now add 200 hundred more numbers and there: you have access to site where you can buy illegal guns, explosives, drugs, stolen cars etc.
    There is no use of viewing deep web if not for illegal reasons that cant be discovered by police.

    You wont be able to access the deep web so easily. Ofcourse you would be able to find some stuff like free music, just released movies etc. And you would be able to do that by searching with onion. But you wouldn't be able open most of the deep web because the sites are like 4k4324k2v424f21ou43k324242cxd4g24fufdsofdsu213c4gcvcfh21u43vcisf8874uhjv67643hkjfusf7.onion.com or something like that. And such sites are awailable for gang members and certain groups of people. In such sites you can buy guns, drugs, illegal fake money wiev underage porn etc. And can mostly be accesed from gang member pc's.
    But u can take a wild guess and maybe it will lead you to something interesting. Small chance.
    Atleast thats some stuff i know about deep web.

    Dark side of the Internet? Or the runnings of the Internet?
    Getting deep into the web can open a can of worms.

    Many countries now keep records of where you visit what you download and basically log everything about your web usage.
    The dark sites of the Internet still exist but not in TOR. They are private websites that have invite only status (and generally hidden by private proxy).

    What are you interested in?
    I know the web well.

      I don't know enough about the deep web to be interested in any one thing, I purely want to go to see what's there, minus the whole illegal porn, drug trade and hitman hire stuff, I want to avoid all that if possible

      I mean, it's massive, so there must be a ton of legitimate and interesting sites on the deep web

        There are more sites than what you can see in a lifetime. Plus new sites happen every micro second (actually a thousand sites probably just got made right now).

        I'd suggest following an interest you have.
        The last thing I learned about was 3d imaging - of which is old news these days! I just foound it interesting so I watched about 5 vids, and read a whole bunch of stuff.

        A lot of people start with news sites, or youtube etc. Forums such as this one can be about anything you can imagine and more ;)

        Its SO vast, that everyone always say - start with your interests ;)
        I know one of the first things I say to people who just begin on the Internet for the first time, is to search for your own name! Even they are on the Internet before they have ever been on the Internet :D

            I've been interested in changes to the web.
            Privacy; restrictions; new words; administrators of the web; search engines and their real capabilities; countries; and culture.
            Since the techy stuff days, I've taken on a broader look at what's on the web.
            Sometimes when I read a popular news article, I will go to another country site and see their interpretation of what was the news. So far I have found the US to be very sheltered. Its disturbing to say the least.

    There's a search engine that's 100% private called,"The Onion" or just "Onion". Apparently, users can access the "deep web" in complete privacy. As for how to access the deep web, I don't know. I assume you would just look up porn.

      No there are plenty of porn sites on the surface that suit my non niche porn needs, I'm not interested in that part of the deep web, just the shallow deep web, around 99% of the internet is deep web, that just fascinates me, and thanks for the tip :)

        You're welcome. For me personally, the deepest I've ever gotten has been with Dominatrix sites. ;P Oh, and there's always tumblr if you need a porn fix.

    The Deep Web is nothing to take lightly. When treading in that dark territory (and I mean the darkest of all and every dark place on the planet) tread as carefully as you would walking on pieces of glass that are as sharp as razors without wearing any clothing. I was really curious about it once myself... It is a place where you don't need to be in the military to get PTSD. The things you see on there will be more unbelievable than you could possibly imagine. The only thing is that it most likely will be real. Things you're not supposed to see and stuff that you'll never be able to unsee. If you think that I'm writing this just as a joke... You're sadly mistaken. Steer clear from the Deep Web unless you feel like spending the rest of your life never leaving your house again. Or prison. If you want to get a feel for the Deep Web and I mean barely scratching the surface... Go to 4chan.org
