Yeah im a furry myself, and I seem nothing wrong with it. Even the sexual part is exciting to me.
The furry fandom is not normal, but this is merely splitting hairs. I say it is not normal because it is hasn't reached a point that it is well known like say the Star Trek Fandom or Harry Potter Fandom.
It is however normal to be into something that is a fantasy. No one seems to shun the afore mention Star Trek or Harry Potter fandoms.
Let me put it another way: The furry fandom is what you yourself make of it. If you are a furry and wish to act in a way that calls attention to it, you will be considered abnormal by some. To some furries you will be part of the crowd and to others a hero for their cause and crusade to make it acceptable.
If you conduct yourself in a manner that causes people to think you are weird or abnormal you will be considered by some to be weird and abnormal.
It seems normal to me, but then I am a furry, so I am not 100% objective on that assessment.
I am also a furry, I just tend to keep personal life and work world separate. I don't normally come out and say yes I am one unless asked or told by someone that they are before I do.
Totally normal, it's just another realm of fantasy. Of course, I'm a furry too. XD but were no better or worse than any of the other fandoms out there, and if people find happiness in it, let it be. :) there are always going to be people who are frightened by what they don't understand.
I'm at least interested in and as well fascinated by the general idea behind it. There is a certain beauty to anthropomorphic animals, I have to say.
No, it is not normal. Furry "fans" make up less than 0.025% (2 million) of the estimated worldwide population (8 billion) and 50+% is what governs a normalcy. Many people are fan of fable in various cultures, although this does not constitute they are furry. Furthermore, the sexual attraction towards animal sex roleplay is a mental ailment professionally known as "autozoophilia". I should also add "furry fandom" is not really a fandom, at least not for its archetypal description, it is rather a community of autozoophiles/zoophiles, therians/otherkin, fursuiters and cartoon/fable/funny/talking animal fans.
