The only way i can sleep is melatonin

I am a person who has great trouble getting to sleep. I can not relax and I cannot shut my brain down. I have begun taking melatonin. It id the only thing I take. It;s jut that I have to take about 15 small tablets a night to sleep. It's all natural, so it's safe isn't it?

You probably need something more effective then so you won't need so many. That is a lot.

You should look into medical marijuana. And not just the smoking kind. There's oils or tablets you can use that lack thc which makes you high.

First, natural does not equal safe. Poison Ivy and Hemlock are natural, but I would not recommend consuming either. Also, though melatonin is a naturally occurring substance, the melatonin found in capsules is normally synthesized in a lab.

Generally speaking it is a relativity safe substance, but it can have side effects such as increased blood pressure or increased blood sugar. So if you have conditions already related to these issues, it might not be the best thing for you. Also, it sounds like at 15 a night, you may be exceeding the recommended dose, which might be harmful.

Just like with any other supplement, you should always consult your doctor before you start taking it regularly.

How many grams or micrograms per tablet? They come in different amounts.

You said you take 15 of these 3mg pills? Because that is way too much, practically a melatonin overdose. Even though it won't kill you I can't imagine it being healthy.

Rather than medicating yourself to sleep, perhaps you should try to find the problem and get that taken care of.
I remember after the war, I had difficulty sleeping alone for many years (a great pick up line for Hippie chicks, by the way), but it did pass. In that case, the stresser was pretty obvious, but maybe in your case it's less obvious.
