I am the proud owner of a totally adorable black cat named Goobler.
She was a rescue car who was abused as a kitten, and she was about to be put down at the shelter for biting someone at a pet store event for shelter cat adoption.
When I first adopted her, she was terrified of people; she wouldn't come near me. It took months and months of patience and hard work to get her to trust me.
Now she's a total lap cat. She loves everyone; never runs away from people...she's always talking and purring and snuggling.
Rescued animals are the best! I have a beautiful border collie/kelpie cross who had been so badly treated before I got her that she was scared of the whole world.
She's still a bit crazy (matches her owner) but very different to how she was over 4 years ago.
I was also traumatised when I got her and I really believe we've helped to heal each other. There are no humans I want to live with, but i'd be lost without her.
She needs a lot of exercise and walking her has helped a lot with depression and also with social isolation because of the other dog owners I meet on our walks.
I love cats too but haven't had one for years because I live near bushland and can't afford a cat run to protect local wildlife from a cat or cats.
Sadly no... I will though. I swear upon it. One day, I will live up to being that one cat lady down the street.
(Maybe not, but whatever. I'll have a pet or two someday.)
I had two fish and a hermit crab when I was about... 12-ish though. Both fish died from ink poisoning since my brother's stupid ass friend decided it would be a wonderful idea to dip a pen in the water. -.- And I sorta-kinda loathed my hermit crab. It eventually died from old age or something.
But that's about it. My (nearly) petless life. *cries*
I have three cats, a dog, and three horses and looking after two other horses (five in total).
My dog is a pretty funny little thing. She gets jealous very easily.
My two youngest cats are pretty normal. Youngest cat is the playful one and constanly irritates you to pat her and if you do you have to pat her rough or she hits you...Lol.
Middle cat was a really scared cat when we seen it at the shop. That's why we got her. She would hiss, claw, and run away from you and shut herself out. Now she's completely changed, always comes to you for pats and so on.
My three horses.
Oldest is an ex race horse. Got her for free. She's quite the diva.
Youngest horse is an apathetic one. Just walks around and is clumbsy and play fights with the middle horse who is his half brother.
Middle horse is Lucien. He's a funny bugger. We play fight a few times despite how big he is. We'll run at eachother and jump at eachother. He's trained enough to make him stop playing if he gets too rough, though.
My favorite is my oldest cat Samson. He's a majestic fuck. He's a Russian Blue and is a very prideful cat who takes on everything. He's beaten my dog, he's beaten my horses (not joking, they're afraid of him due to how much he would just bitchslap their noses and jumps on their backs).
None.
I had a hamster when I was 8. That's it.
Never lived in a place big enough for dogs/cats, never had the money growing up to have a dog/cat. I used to want a wolf :P
Aside: There seem to be a lot of cat ladies (and fellas) here... Surprising number of horses, too :/
Currently two cats, did have a springer spaniel called molly but she died a few years ago, I have a Bengal mix who I was allowed to name so of course I fittingly for a kitten named him Clive and a black and white cat called frank.
Clive doesn't really like too much attention from me, occasionally he'll get on me and start padding which is a sign I can stroke him then he starts making playful churping sounds, he mostly just spends his time following frank and annoying him.
Frank's my favorite and I'm his, as soon as I sit in the living room he'll come flying across the room to sit on me and give me affectionate little nips on my hand ( that sounded wrong ) any chance to fall asleep on me he will, he's affectionate but when he's had enough rather than just get off like most cats he'll stiffen, then if you carry on or try to move him to get up he'll go for you.
What about you op?
I currently have 4 dogs. Have had dogs all my lives. Have watched 2 die I had all my life. Very sad. It's like a human family member dying at first.
I've had in the past also
Cat (13 years)
Bird
(Large and Small) Snakes
Rat (seperate from snakes)
Fish
Mini Turtles
Gerbil/Hampster
Guinea Pig
I have a betta fish and a cat.
Adopted kitty from animal shelter in 2013, he is the funniest most goofy cat ever. He comes when I call him and fetches stuff, and takes socks and his toy snake everywhere.
He eats spaghetti and wakes me up by purring in my face and chewing on my hair.
He has the softest fur ever and puts up with my son annoying him. He is always talking and often sounds like hes asking a question... "meow??"
I love him !
Betta fish is named Lapiz...he doesn't say much but enjoys making bubble nests.
I have a dog that lives with my grandmother. She's a cunt, but she's so soft and pretty. I posted a pic of her on a story once. I'll see if it's still there.
I also keep threatening to steal my boyfriend's dogs.

One of the rare occasions the little shit has let me pat her.
She's lucky she's a dog or else I wouldn't forgive her bullshit.
I have tropical fish.
They are cannibalistic live-bearers. That means mothers must give birth to their fish in a special compartment which prevents her from consuming them shortly after delivery.
The male fish are also jealous assholes who won't hesitate to gang up on prettier fish and tear their fins off.
I also used to have this one golden algae eater who'd pick fights with the tank's biggest gourami who was easily five times his size. But that golden, algae-eating fish was nimble and the gourami ended up hurting himself more than his opponent (due to constantly missing the algae eater and slamming mouth-first into gravel).
I have five dogs. They are all strays.. I take them off the street and fix them and keep them forever.
I had a cat but a police van drove over her head.
My one dog, Lanco, survived cat flu with all odds against her. She thinks she is a human :) Even tries to talk sometimes.
Chico is a real miracle.. found her on the back of my bakkie in the middle of winter during the coldest night.. she was probably not even two weeks old. Some savage decided to just throw her on the back of my bakkie whilst walking by probably.
Rambo is a brown rottweiler. I got him first - he is now 12 years old. I kinda let him follow me home :| coz I reaaaally wanted a dog
The other two dogs are just pavement specials and belong to Rambo. He pees on them and stuff
I am blessed with a handsome bengal cat named Thor. What an amazing fucking breed. He looks like a little leopard and acts a lot like a dog in ways. I love him so much!!
Not where I currently live. My one and only cat died last year of kidney failure. He was all black, and lived to be 17. I came home just to take care of him. When he became an old man he got more cuddly, I suppose some anti-cat people would say he was just seeking warmth, but he would also purr almost constantly.
I have a rabbit that my sister is currently taking care of, that's black and white, and 10 years old. It was rescued by my mom, then rescued by me from my mom (lol..). Sad as i am to say, it seems like rabbits (at least this one) don't have that much personality. I doubt it would notice my return, if it even noticed that I was gone to begin with.
My mom has a dog that I used to take care of a bit. of course, that dog remembers me, as dogs do, and sleeps under the blanket by my legs when I go to visit... Pretty cute although I never felt like that dog had as strong of a bond with me as it it did with food... That was the only dog we've ever had but that seems pretty normal of dogs...
I have a 7 year old brindle Boston Terrier named scooter. I've had her since she was a few months old. Just recently she's developed back problems. A couple weeks ago I noticed she couldn't jump up on the bed and has gotten progressively worse since. She has a ruptured disc that is putting pressure on her spinal cord. Her back legs are paralyzed now. She helplessly drags them with her front. It breaks my heart to see my little bitch, once so full of energy and happiness, in such pathetic condition. I've taken her to the vet and, other than from spending thousands more on her without assurance of recovery, there's not much they can do. :(
2 Rats. Really loveable little guys, just run around everywhere and are curious about everything :) I honestly don't get why they get such a bad rap. They're just like small dogs and they have never bitten me.
I have 4 dogs and 2 rabbits. I used to have 5 rabbits, but the dogs killed 3. I used to have a hamster too, but it ran away and was eaten by the dogs. I wanted to have a cat, but needless to say my house would be a dangerous place for one...
i have two parrots indian rednecks, but for some reason they are always trying to escape.
:(
i am minding a hopeful small white dog called tony. he has scared me lately by humping a male pitbull, oh no get off him tony phew all ok , everyone likes tony he's such a character :D
I had 3 cats and 2 dogs at one point... Now i only have 1 cat and 2 dogs.
Two dogs and a ferret. My tarantula died a couple weeks ago. Very sad, I am.
Two cats. One male long hair named Pat. The poor thing can't keep up with grooming. So sometimes he gets shaved. The other is a short hair female named Mouse. When she wants attention she picks up her left paw. It's so cute.
I have an albino ferret named lumi!!!! ♡♡
We bought her for my daughter last year for Christmas. She is a goid ferret who doesnt bite or anything.
ferrets are so cute I recommend them for everyone.ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ノ
At the moment we don't have a pet. A pet could cost us a charter if a potential customer was allergic.
However my wife is missing a warm and furry in the family so she is looking at allergen free pets and has fount these cute things called sugar gliders. They aren't rodents, so they don't smell, and they are most happy in a shirt pocket when you are busy.
Looks like she'll be flying up to the states to pick up a pair, when we get to St. T.
Currently, I don't have any pets, but I used to have a dog named Blackie. My parents got her in the summer of 1998 when she was two years old. She passed away in the summer of 2012.

She was very lazy and liked to sleep a lot during the day, yet would take off like a speeding bullet when someone managed to hype her up. Once she started running, there was no way to stop her. My siblings and I had so much fun running around the backyard and playing with her. She was a bit bitey at times though, but I didn't mind the bruises. I can also recall times she would climb or jump over the fences to sneak out of the house. She'd always come back with a dead bird in her mouth or a dog toy that wasn't hers. Getting those dirty items away from her was pretty difficult due to how fast she was. lol.
One of the things I could never figure out was what breed she was. I knew she was half husky, but the other half was always a mystery. Whenever I took her out for walks, people would always comment on her pale blue eyes and say she looked like a little tiny wolf. I can recall some people were even afraid of her because of the way the blue eyes looked with her black fur.
Damn I miss her. I swear, that dog was one of my closest friends growing up.
