The toilet seat dilemma - part deux

I saw all the diverse opinions posted on a previous post and thought I'd take it one step further.

My gf and I started living together. We both were considerate and made lots of adjustments to be compatible living together. That included divvying up household chores. Cleaning bathrooms was one of her chores. After a while she asked if I would pee sitting down because doing it standing up caused a lot of urine splatter all around the toilet. I didn't think it was too much to ask and I started peeing sitting down at home.

After we split up and she moved out, I started peeing standing up again. Turns out she was right, pee splatters everywhere (and no, I don't have bad aim) and I was the one cleaning the bathroom now. I've gone back to peeing sitting down when at home.

is it normal for a guy to pee sitting down at home to keep the bathroom cleaner?

If it makes things easier, then keep doing it.

I've done it both ways all my life. I was trained to pee standing and to aim for the middle of the toilet (water). It's always easier in the middle of the night to walk to the bathroom without turning on the lights, take a seat, piss, go back to sleep. If I turn on the lights, it is more difficult to go back to sleep.

The down side of sitting to pee at home is that my balls sometimes take an unexpected dip in the cold water of the toilet. To avoid this, I stand to pee most of the time, and keep a rag handy to clean the rim of the the toilet and the floor. It only takes 5 - 10 seconds and prevents the bathroom from smelling like urine.

Uh... I pee standing up, always have, and yeah sometimes it gets on the floor, but in my opinion, that's not worth sitting down to do it every single F-ing time.
