They took my hot cocoa away

I work at a really cheap, petty company that spies on its employees and pays them shit. My work was solely resposible for earning them 3.5 million in grants. My reward: they stopped giving me merit increases. Worst of all... they have an automatic drink machine, one of the options is hot cocoa (weak, overly sweet, low quality). Well I think they got the impression I was drinking too much of it (one small mug in the morning) so they stopped refilling the powder. They have video cameras everywhere so they probably analyzed what I was doing.

Omg hahaha please just quit and become a comedian or screenwriter because the bit about the cocoa is gold. Honestly though sounds like you have bigger repressed issues with your employer and you should find a new job or career.

Firstly, you have a rather lazy attitude about career advancement to work there. But, assuming you can retire on a moments notice, laziness is okay. So, buy a large thermos bottle, and a nice coffee mug. Bring in your own hot cocoa to sip at your desk. An inflatable palm tree as a cubicle ornament, and a poster of an irresistibly beautiful beach might help to dissipate stress while you update your resume.

    • It's true. An organization of powerful, wealthy men gave us a shit load of money because of the work I did.

You should schedule a conversation with your boss about being compensated on a commission basis if you are directly earning them big business. That is standard in situations where your role is to bring in money. I used to work in finance (investment sales) and was paid mostly on commission
