To have the intent of selling my old phone but my mom keeps stopping me?

My mom seems to think that it's not mine to sell, but my old phone was given to me from my cousin around 4 years ago however it's still technically mine. She keeps having a hissy fit over this despite having the intent to sell the phone on eBay. Not just that she keeps acting self-righteous when I made it clear that I want to sell it in the future.

Is it normal?

    Just be clear to her that it’s your property and do it anyway, she’ll get over it

    If it really is your phone then I wouldn't even have a conversation with her about it.

    Just sell it. Maybe she'll notice and ask you about it, at which point you can let her know that it's been sold. If she's annoyed about it then that's her own problem, not yours.
