To prefer girls taller than me?

I voted not normal in the sense most men prefer slightly shorter women. That doesn’t mean I think it’s weird or wrong though - far from it.

I'm 6'4". Most of the women I've had relationships with were of average height, so considerably shorter than me. That wasn't a deliberate choice on my part, but just the way things worked out. I've spent my entirely life since adolescence surrounded by shorter people, so that's just my normal, and I stopped thinking about height differences a long time ago.

My present wife is 5'8", so a few inches taller than the average woman in the UK or USA. That's not surprising, since she's Dutch, and the statistics say The Netherlands is the tallest country in the world. I gotta admit that the first time I visited The Netherlands and saw quite a few attractive women who were as tall or me or even taller, I did have some dirty thoughts about the possibilities that being with a woman that tall would open up.

As the father of a daughter whose genes mean she's definitely going to end up taller than average, I wish more guys had your attitude. It's not that I hope she'll end up with some jerk who has a fetish for tall women and that's all he likes about her, but rather that I know from reading stories about the challenges faced by tall women that many guys are way too insecure to date a woman who's taller than they are.
