To think the prime minister of australia is a spaz

His name is Tony Abbott. He doesn't 'believe' in climate change. He's been busted making numerous sexist remarks. He talks shit. he ran for high office on the populism premise - whatever turned out to be most popular, he coincidentally converted to that opinion. And worst of all, he speaks solely in cliché and platitude.

is it normal to think this guy is a total spaz?

I totally rely on penalty rates in my job, night shift, weekends ect. If he gets rid of them I'm screwed.

I'm 26, I still read Laboor every time I see Labour. Is this normal? I hope you Commonwealth people know what Laboor should sound like.

Wow! You didn't have to. I'm flattered you'd put together a Wikipedia entry for a fictional city in such short time. You chose great pictures btw! It's lovely, but no Narnia!

I think that I have heard of him, but I don't recall ever hearing his stances. What ever happened to the PM who looked like Tilda Swinton?

    • Her political party decided they wanted back the guy she replaced - Kevin Rudd. Rudd lost the election last year and now Tony Abbott is in charge.

A lot of ill feelings towards the PM.

I'm not Australian, but I'm sort of into anything Australia related.

PS- how did you guys elect him in the first place?! He seems unpopular at the moment.

    • The difference between a giant douche and a turd sandwich, I'm afraid.

Really though, Aussies are easily manipulated by the media. tony abbott had Rupert Murdoch on his team, so the media created the situation necessary to make Rudd and the ALP look bad.

Secondly, the ALP gave of an air of unstability. They were too capricious in their choice of leaders, which is shown by the switch back to Rudd so soon. Labour were being populist swine as well.

Thirdly, Abbott exploited the latent Aussie fear of migrants so much of the campaign was a race to the bottom. Whoever promised to be crueler to asylum seekers would be shown the public favour. This is what leads to China and Iran lecturing us on human rights (we treat them like human vermin and criminals). In fact, the government is trying to cover up the death of a young Iranian man who was held in custody in an offshore detention centre (a dark hole where we put refugees and asylum seekers). His name was Reza Berati. Bashed to death in a riot/lynch mob situation on Manus Island. 80 others were injured.

Righta mates. From the outside, Australia looks like paradise having problems with labour unions. In most countries labor leaders are shot in the back by long range marksmen. Too bad you can't just deport them.
