Too many fake rednecks
You see this all the time now. Its sad because you see these fake rednecks. Just because you have a big truck and you moved to the south as a 10 year old does not make you redneck. Wearing boots everyday, rocking the rebel flag doesnt either. Being a true redneck is in the heart. Its not in the accent or the politics. Like dont even try to pretend you're a redneck if you cant grow your own food. Cant skin a deer? NOT A REDNECK. Cant change your oil? You see where this is going..
When I meet new people I ask them "how many acres did you grow up on?". Just observe them over time and you'll see if theyre the real deal or not. There are many giveaways. If he calls an AR15 magazine a "clip" that is a DEAD giveaway. Clips are on older rifles. He is not a real redneck if he calls a magazine a clip. He would have gotten beat up as a child if he said that in school. He would know better. He probably was not even born in the south. Might even be from California...
Be careful out here and watch your circle closely. Remember if he calls a coke a soda or a pop thats not a good sign. And we need to guide our children to be better rednecks. Dont just tell them a pop is a coke. Explain to them WHY. It does not matter if its a dr pepper its still a coke. If a waiter gives you a coca cola when you ask for a coke explain to her that she should have asked "which kind of coke" and not caved in to northern assumptions.
Remember its not about the outward appearance or the accent the proof is in the work. How many kids do they have? How many hours of work do they work? Have they been on any type of government assistance? That is a redflag. Does he have a old car broken down in his yard and when you ask it he says "Im workin on it"? That may be a good sign.
So these are just a few conglomerates I been playing out in my head. If I think of anymore I will add them below. Be careful out there.
