Alright. Currently I am trying to learn Swedish, and I would like a few tips or tricks before I delve into the language. Some questions that would be helpful if answered:
·Should I get a tutor?
·Will learning this take more than a year?
·Does practicing the language aloud help in any significance? (Besides speaking it and pronouncing the words right)

The best thing I found is to communicate with native speakers, try going onto Swedish chat sites. Most young Swedes are fluent in English, so they would help you with your learning.
I found the best way to learn a language personally is outside the classroom and with immersing myself among native speakers online. It was the best way for me to learn English :)
I thought there were no other languages but "American." **Lazily eats sandwich**
Sometimes i go to google translate and select a language of interest then type stuff in and say it out loud then I hit the little speaker thingy to see how bad my pronunciation is.
It will take more than a year, you should get post it notes and stick words on everything in your house for practice.
Have conversations with people in swedish and watch swedish television/movies.
