Spending time on the computer for excess amounts of time doesn't make you a nerd. Developing computer related applications and building your own computers is more of a nerd hobby. Any myspace whore can spend 10 hours on the computer adding friends but does that make them a nerd? No.

Surfing the web doesnt make you a computer nerd. Stop listening to the Mainstream media about what being a geek or nerd is.
Normal but not healthy.
Think about it. If you don't have a job, how are you going to pay for the next computer upgrade or your electricity bill?
Who wouldn't be on the computer 10 hours a day? They do everything nowadays - we'll all be cyborgs soon
It's normal now because everyone does it however that does not make it any better.
you learn way more on the internet than you do on tv. I also find that I can learn more on the internet than I often do in school!
maybe you can research how to better find a job
Maybe i'm a computer nerd too. It's normal but not good. Go and be a social guy :)
yeah im currently on the same road as you.. it's normal but not right. if only websurfing could pay
I think it's a bad habit. I'm usually not looking for jobs, though I have come across some fun sites.
Sometimes, I feel like the internet is helpful because it has helped me learn about myself--I take quizzes online, read about other people's stories, and read about blogs that interest me. However, 10 hours a day seems like overkill.
depends. how many hours are you spending on the computer looking for a job?
isn't it funny, how time seems different when you are on the computer. i sometimes can't believe how much time i spend on it. but it's a loosers existance to be on it all the time.
if you are an adult, you have to make money to pay for rent, utilities, etc. if you are still at home with your parents, i'd think they've already been asking you to stop.
i think you may be developing a bad habit.
