A weeaboo is a non-Japanese person who is obsessed with Japanese culture. They often say Japanese phrases in their sentences, only watch Japanese cartoons, and a lot more. We have all encountered at least one online if we are on Social Media. It seems like this is a little *more* than an addiction. What do you all think?

I consume a lot of Japanese film and food because I like them, but I don't really partake in much else that their culture has to offer. I'm not into the obsession over little girls, their endemic racism, nor do I admire their attitude to work. They idolise skeletal and ineffectual women. I prefer strong, intelligent role models for my daughters. They also seem to idolise single use plastics which seems a bit behind the times for such a rich and developed country. The amount of miniature plastic tat they buy is depressing.
I would like to have a nice holiday somewhere in the South, but I think that living there long-term would be kind of shit. Especially as a "foreigner".
If that makes people happy, what’s it to you? If those people annoy you, avoid them.
Imagine the same thing but if they were obsessed with welsh culture instead of japanese.
There's so many people nowadays who are obsessessed with Japan.
I don't see the hype personally, it's not even on my list of places i'd like to visit but it seems like it's mostly anime-fans who are like this which kinda makes sense I guess.
All my male friends except one are into anime, and one of these friends of mine is very into Japan and have already been there once and will probably go there again. Seems nice and all but not really my thing, then again i'm not into anime either. I find it annoying if the person makes their entire idenity about Japan and anime, but if it's just an interest like any other then it's not really much more different than being into regular tv shows.
I've never heard of a Koreaboo before. Though, by the title, I can tell it means a person who is obsessed with Korean culture.
Yea. Basically someone who wishes they were korean without actually knowing what that means. Ususlly a fan of kpop and kdramas (dont get me wrong theres alot to like however it doesnt reflect korean culture at all) generally very toxic people. Uncomfortable comes off as crazy. U mean how do you not when your obsessed over another culture
