Urgent help how do i quit my job or ask for time off?

I work two jobs right now and I am doing HR work as well as most of the duties at my second job. I am Hiring people, making ads, and updating the menus. I also am the main cashier and they want me to come on as manager but say they can not increase my pay at all. At this point I am considering it as I want to drop my morning shift because than I could wake up later. Also I fear I might be having blood sugar problems as when I do not eat enough, or get enough sugar I start getting very ill. Usually, I just drink a lot of soda. As soda usually makes me feel less ill. Recently I been hungry more often but I also been taking medicine to help fix my digestive system and I think its working but now I have to eat a lot more but I honestly have no time to eat really.

Bro, stop drinking soda so fucking much that terrible for you and is probably why your shits fucked up.

They HAVE to allow you to eat. I’ve never worked in a restaurant where you can’t eat. That makes no sense. Fuck them. And of course leave it up to this industry to want you to do more with no raise. Can you not go somewhere else with your previous experience?

Yeah and a two weeks notice can be on toilet paper. It doesn’t matter. But no matter how you do it, just expect them to either not schedule you or cut the fuck out of your hours.

Corporate world. You won't get a time off. You can resign or eventually they will fire you.
Last time I had a corporate job due to excessive work load I had the same issue of law blood sugar and eating less. When I got sick, I was simply got fired. Job is a must but take care of your health first because they don't give a damn they can simply hire someone else. You can't hire your health back...

Promotion in position but not pay does not make sense. I'd look for a position in another industry.

Here in the USA most restaurants are finding it hard to hire people after the Covid-19 closures as much of their previous staff has found better paying jobs with better hours in other industries. A standard comment now was that starting in a restaurant was good experience; but, I'll never go back now that I have work in other industries.

I'm sure that if you carefully categorize your skill and experience (what skills have you learned or demonstrated: not what you did) that you can easily get a better paying job with better hours elsewhere.

I wish you well with this,

    • I worked in several industry and always end up at the manager at some point. Why I am going to college now so I could get a better job, and find a job where I am making more money. Since apparently lack of education is the only issue I am having right now.

It sounds like you have some skills that can be marketed. Restaurant work is tough and isn't to be played with if you are not a competent chef or beast server in the long run. Most people avoid it; only maniacs and drug users do it for the long haul lol. If you have health problems already, you should work somewhere that gives you health insurance.

Never take a promotion like that without extra pay. Id tell them I want atleast 20 an hour for it. Its their job to pay you the least they can and your job to ask for as much as you can. Dont take the management job without a raise. They will probably offer you one if you say no.

    • I told them I want a raise, vacation and to be put on Salary. I also was going to try to hire a bunch of employees so I can just do the HR portion since I am the one doing the website/hiring/Ads/promotion as well as trying to manage the actual store. Which has been leaving me tired, and honestly really irritable as I just have no time to sleep.

  • Restaurant jobs are honestly messed up. I worked in a restaurant briefly and i've been an intern at another one in the past. Often you'd have to work over breaks, no one cared just keep working and you weren't allowed to sit down even when there was no customer in there because they could show up at any time and you weren't allowed to look "lazy" and you had to always be smiling, managers would straight up get mad otherwise. I would quit honestly. I dont know how but like talk to your boss about it and if you really have blood sugar problems you should go get tested for diabetes.
