Libertarian here. I feel you. I dont lean in hard when my parents go into being a bit too hard with conservatism. But I understand their logic. So do for most leftists.
Progressives on the other hand, they are too idealistic and optimistic about human nature.

And it was Obama that got the ball rolling. He started off his presidency by visiting various countries that are openly hostile against us and then fucking humiliated the country by apologizing for America's success. He kept promising that "shovel-ready jobs aren't going to come back", intentionally killed the coal industry in areas where it supplied the most jobs, and practically masturbated to the idea of the country falling into irrelevance. America's fall is what left-leaning politicians in DC have been trying to orchestrate for years
You have it wrong, you cannot blame Obama for this. All empires rise and fall. Today the US can be considered an empire at its peak is gone. The British ruled the world as did the Romans, Ottomans etc. however they fell. Same is happening now. But i welcome as because of USA the world is in turmoil.
