INN that I find volunteerism unpleasant? Volunteering is really important, and it's really wonderful that people volunteer. However, I find it to be exhausting, and it's hard for me to spend time with people who are very impoverished. Are my feelings normal?

    I'm volunteering for a candidate for Governor of my state. It's pretty... horrible. But I believe in the guy so much! I show up every day I have to, to try to help him out.
    I agree, find a cause you are really committed to.

    i think your feelings are normal. it can be unpleasant.

    there are lots of "causes" out there. maybe you can find something you are interested in volunteering in that doesn't involve the impoverished.

    I had to do 40 hours of community service for school.

    Very. Unpleasant.
