Is it normal to not want to live past 50 ? I don't want Tuckyneck and wrinkles , plus lots of other health issues. I'm so scared of old people ,especially those who are 80. They look awful and creepy. I would kill myself because how could you mange to live like that ? I want to throw up.

Apparently lots of old people got hurt by this. Don't lie to me. If you could go back in time, you would.

    Growing older is a part of life. Deal with it. I am 70 and in good health. Eat right very little if any junk food and stay active. You'll be fine.

      I don't think eating healthy foods will help much. I'm vegan and I have so many issues already. Tired of hospital's now. I'm just 23' I shouldn't have to deal with this now.

        You say you are vegan? You may be missing some crucial elements in your diet. I'd check with a nutritionist or a Naturopath Doctor and consult about your diet and the possible need for vitamins or minerals.

    My mother is 52 and she has no wrinkles bc she looked after her skin.

    I thought like that when I was young. Having got to mid-sixties life has never been better. I don't have to worry about employment, men, mortgages, money or anything else for that matter. Provided you've still got your health then you might find it's the best time of your life.

      Well, maybe you had kids and savings. I'm already 37, and will have no savings nor grandchildren... what's the point of growing old and poor?

      If I had kids "hey, i need to spoil my grandkids"
      If I had money "hey, i get to be the annoying old lady at the Europe tour"

      But I have none... so I'd prefer to enjoy my life and die young

      The thing that scares me is that people always say that I'm beautiful and they treat me nicely. I might lose all of it if I grow old. I want people to like me. That's why beauty matters so much to me.

        Poisonous-Cupcakes; I appreciate that beauty is a big thing. Cosmetic surgery, good diet and exercise can keep you looking great in old age. I am at that invisible stage now but find it a big relief. I can go anywhere on my own and be left in peace. The hassle men give when you are beautiful can be very tiring. Believe me, there are lots of positive aspects, but we tend to just get the old codgers moaning about their operations, deaths and wrinkles which colour our view.

          I know how difficult it can be to have lots of men running after but not having anyone notice you sounds much worse to me. I don't want to be alone just because I lose my looks. I want people to like to be around me.

      Not suicidal, actually a late bloomer in a happy relationship, finally with a decent job.

      But on the older side (37), no kids and no savings. I see no point on going past 50

    Everything you said is very true and it's great that you are happy and living well at age 58. This op is ignorant, there are some great older and elderly people out there, plus they are also inspirations from earlier, interesting times. I sometimes wish I could go back in time 20-30 years just to be around more survivors of the roaring 20s, people during that age were awesome, and the flapper girls, speakeasies, the Charleston, bathtub gin. Also, what the op said about elderly commiting suicide, he's wrong, the elderly are not the biggest age group to commit suicide. It's much more common with younger and early middle aged people (like 30s and 40s).

    I can relate but in a bit of a different way..

    I have taken out a huge life insurance plan that will expire when I turn 40.

    If I die before 40 my son will get 100k (plus whatever possessions I have), more than what I can possibly leave him at the moment.

    So I am 27 now.. If I do reach 40 I have to renew and the premiums will be way too much!!

    .. I haven't told his mother though. She is way too greedy and materialistic. Not going out like that.
