Was i sexually abused when i was younger?

I am a 25 years old woman and as i grow up I kinda realize how fucked up it was but I wanna know everyones opinion: When I was a kid (prob 6-7 years old?) my older brother (he was probs 13-12) would suggest to play and he would start touching me and kissing me, (he never penetrated me btw) it happened a couple of times. Nowadays, we get along so well , we both do as if nothing happened I dont know if he even remembers. I was obviously a child , i was innocent and i didnt know what i was doing so i currently obviously feel a little bit of shame, guilt and embarrassment. I just want to know if you guys think this was considered rape, sexual assault experience / child molesting, or whatever it is called. I havent told anyone bcause it just feels embarassing, so might as well ask in this platform, please dont be rude, or inconsiderate on your answers, thank you <3

    A 12-year-old knows better than to kiss and touch their 6-year-old sister, this was inappropriate.

    Feelings of guilt and shame around being taken advantage of as a child are sadly normal, at that age a child is self-centred and cannot understand that it wasn’t their fault. Further, realising you were not just violated, but violated by someone you now have a good relationship with, is incredibly confusing.

    I can imagine it was likely difficult just to admit this happened and write this post. I recommend talking about it with a professional when you feel strong enough to do so.

      its all right, even though we dont talk about it and do as if nothing happened, i already did peace with him. now that im 25, i lowkey feel though, like it has impacted a lot on my either anxious attachment style or sexual life (either trust issues with people or hypersexuality) , im starting to analyze my feelings and probably see if theres any hidden wound but i mean its okay, i just feel like as im older i realize how damaged that was

    I'm sad about what happened to you very much and I am sad to say that I tried to do it with my younger sister and I apologize to her I was raging with hormones and tried but didn't know how to do it . But I tried and am very ashamed of myself. And to that I punished myself by letting my ex wife fuck me with a 18 inch strap on dildo and I still feel so guilty trying to have sex with my sister sorry for you

    He probably also remembers and shoved that memory deep down somewhere. I’m not denoting what he did to you, but I assure you, he’s probably incredibly embarrassed and grossed out with himself.

    How much older is the brother?

    All kids experiment, maybe not at 6 or 7, but by 9 to 11 most kids start practicing kissing or hormones start getting confusing and hand roaming, kissing, or just looking at the body yours or others is not unusual.

    That being said if he was 15 or 16 and you were 6 or 7. He knew what he was doing and probably is more ashamed of it than you.
