My cats litterbox is right in front of the toilet bowl wenever I use the bathroom he jumps on the box and does the same. Is this normal? If I go on vacation will he still go by himself

I don't think he'll get constipated, eventually he'll use the kitty toilet, he'll have no choice.
Also if someone is going to check up on him while you are away, they'll know if he's been to the toilet as well, so you could ask them. :)

my kitty follows me to the bathroom and sits and waits while i go. i wonder if her litter box was in the bathroom if she would do the same.i don't have room in my bathroom for a kitty potty :(

When I was younger I sometimes peed in my cat's litter box too. I usually sat on the edge of it and relieved myself. It was really funny.

My cat does this too, and I think it's really cute. Maybe your cat does this because he wants to show you that he can use the litterbox, and he expects you to praise him for it?
