In elementary school and the first half of middle school. After that, I really didn't care about my grades unless it was a class that I really enjoyed... Like wood shop or computers. I could've had a 4.0 if I would've actually tried instead of sleeping in class, but hey, I still graduated from MPS aka "Making People Stupid".

Well I was on the deans list for 3 years starting age 14. I had straight Bs. However I stopped doing well when my parents decided to move so I had to switch schools. I had a 3.5 GPA and my younger sibling had 4.0.

No because i moved around alot and at my schools overseas there was no honor roll. (I went to about 14 schools from 1 to 12 grade).

Yeah I was. But I didn't put much effort in it. Especially after the 8th grade. After the 8th grade I was busy flirting, getting lucky, getting rejected, getting a girlfriend and dreaming of a driver's licence :D Everything was so easy. And if something wasn't easy (chemistry), I got help from a geeky dude. He knew everything about chemistry, so he even did one of my chemistry tests! And all that for hanging with me and a few mates at a local pub :D
The money I got from the school (being a honor roll student) was just about enough to cover a couple of dates :D

In elementary and middle school I did this. There was a program where they would pull you out of class and a special teacher would teach you "advanced" topics. I can't remember what they were, but looking back it was pretty weird. And I remember the classes were really disorganized and you weren't even graded. I think it was just a scam to make us feel smarter and more privileged than the other students.

In high school they didn't have this, but I made honor roll most of the time and took honors classes.

I tended to get As and Bs, but I never got into any of the "gifted and talented student" stuff because I wasn't outspoken enough and I never chummed up with any of the teachers. Not that I minded, seeing as the only thing the "gifted and talented" people received for being part of it was an ego boost :P

Yes. The bad part was that I put absolutely no effort into it. It felt so pointless to me at the time. The only thing honor roll students got in return were cheap bumper stickers for parents to stick on their cars that read: "MY CHILD IS AN HONOR STUDENT AT *INSERT NAME HERE* SCHOOL."

Oh yeah I remember these. The school board used to mail them to our house every year.

My parents would never put them on though because they said they looked cheezy and were hard to remove without messing up the car. I bet they're still lying around somewhere.

I got invited to attend a meeting about what I, and the other smart kids who got invited, had to do to be a part of the Honor Society in my high school. Turns that to actually be part of it, I had to do like 80 hours of community service a year, and keep up with my grades. Honestly I couldn't drive and I didn't want to take a bus to volunteer at events on the other side of town. So I just ignored it, but I took the AP classes and had the grades though to be an honor scholar so I think that's something.

  • About half the time. Even when I did get on the honour roll, my 'effort' marks were always in the shitter. :(

I *loathed* doing homework or studying and I recall only doing it a handful of times the entire time I was in secondary school.
