18 though when they turn that age trust me they will somewhat have a similar mindset of a cringy teenager.

Legally 18. When I can trust them to make educated decisions 20. And when I expect them to at least be a functional adult 25.

This view is mainly out of the preditory nature of loans and how 18 year olds are given the sweet deal to indenture themselves into debt.

24+. I could never consider 18 year olds adults, they're just teenagers but it would be too extreme I guess to not make someone a legal adult until they're mid 20s.

    21. I would have said 18, but you're only just graduating high school at 18. You haven't learned anything. By 21, you're part of the way through some college degree, and/or you've worked a real job or two without grade-school distractions, and/or you've tried to follow some dream and faced some success or failure, and/or you've faced the realities of being into bad scenes. You're dealing with something, and it's not just Instagram drama or family issues.

I'm separating "being an adult" from "maturity", which can happen at variable ages, and I personally think happens at a significantly older age. There's immature adults all over the place, but they're still adults.

I will add, though, that the main reason I say "21" is because the legal age for a bunch of stuff is 21. If that wasn't in place, I would probably have said 20. By virtue of you no longer having "teen" in your age, I feel you should be able to get drunk and take a punch without crying on social media about it.

18 is legal in my state but you can't drink until you're 21 which is fucked up. Now I wouldn't say someone is mature until about 30.

    21. If you can't legally drink, you're not an adult
