    • Do you prefer long or shorthaired? I hear they're very affectionate.

I like medium to large breeds of dogs, I would like to have a mixed breed dog that is a great dane, boxer, collie, rottweiler, but I am not sure if that would ever be possible.

I have two Beagles in great shape. None of them fat.

    • I hear they are quite the escape srtists. Is that true for your beagles?

Yes. Beagles are hunting dogs, and therefore they follow their scent and listen to you only if they feel like listening to you. The best way to get their attention is through treats. Training them requires a strong disciplinarian. I've had relative success with them: they know to come, stay, shake with both hands, role, bark on command, stay quiet, go to their crates, and not have accidents inside the home. However, they are mischievous little creatures that are always on the look for food, and always ready to bark at squirrels, deer, strangers, and cars.

Tennis balls: as long as someone keeps throwing them, usually me, she'll keep chasing them

Siberian husky, Alaskan malamute, or Samoyed. Love the northern breeds. Apart from those, labs(especially black labs), Goldens, Aussie Cattle dogs,or mutts. Sorry do not care for the bully/mastiff breeds everyone is so into or small dogs.

Shetland Sheepdogs, Poodles, Collies, Doberman Pinschers, Golden Retrievers, ect are some of my favorites! Intelligent, affectionate dogs are best for me and my Siamese cat. My cat actually knows dog obedience better than a lot of dogs so we need a smart dog not a stupid, yappy one like a Shih Tzu.

I was never a dog person but after a lot of begging from my child and a lot of research we got a shih tzu. I love that little dog!

Huskies! I used to have a dog that was half Husky and she was so awesome! The only downside was that like most Huskies she shed a LOT.

    • That's such a pretty dog. I hear they shed a lot of fur is it really that bad?

      • KeddersPrincess

Yeah. When you get them as puppies where they go through what is called "the ugly stage" and they start losing chunks of their fur at a time.

German Shepherd, Huskey, Bernese Mountain Dog, American Bulldog. I'd even get me a French Bulldog.

Pit bulls have a terrible reputation, but they are fantastic dogs. They routinely score very high on temperament tests.

    • I agree one of my favorites. Have you had one?

      Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Pitbull or husky. I like big dogs but some of the little ones that constantly yip and jump and get into everything get annoying real fast.
