What came first? the spoon or the shovel?
Which idea came first? For someone carve a stick into something to scoop soup/broth into your mouth. Or to build a tool to shovel dirt/ debris out from the ground.

How long would it take to make a spoon vs a shovel? Spoons just seem so easy to make vs a shovel.
I mean what do you think a caveman is gonna need first, something to move dirt around or something to eat out of a bowl with? Even a stick in the ground would constitute a shovel if we define shovel as something that's stuck in the ground to remove dirt
Yeah but a spoon is less necessary than a shovel. When people wanted to eat soup they would just drink it directly from the bowl.
If anything, spoons needlessly complicate the task of eating
