What could seeing a dead body in place of a sleeping person mean?

Me and my boyfriend moved into a new home about a few months ago, and on several occasions during the night I would wake up while the lights are off.

I would look over to my boyfriend and then I'd see a dead person's body in his place. I would get so scared that I'd run out of the room breathing heavily and panicking. Later when I come back into the room everything is normal again.

I had a few paranormal experts analyzing the house, and said that the house is indeed haunted, but mentioned that the spirits here are friendly and mean no harm. I haven't even told my boyfriend about any of this, because I'm afraid it might freak him out, but I'm going to tell him soon. What do you guys think?

The house might present an unknown danger. 9
It could be a warning pointing to your boyfriend. 22
It's probably a harmless spirit, despite how scary it is. 13

Ok, this sounds like a fantastic premise for a horror movie.

It could mean that you need to eat more carrots. It's possible your night vision isn't as accurate as it could be... which may be why your mind is creating images out of the minimal data it's receiving from your eyes.

So I'd suggest more carrots and a night light.

Either that or you secretly want to kill him.

  • It's nothing. The human brain is an extremely complex organ, capable of creating and experiencing images and feelings that are not necessarily true to reality; be it a great dream, a nightmare, an illusion or one of many other things.

Now, even if you believe that "spirits" and the like exist in some form, and can contact you, this (or these) expert(s) are saying the "spirits" are friendly. Really? Then why would they be somehow causing you to experience these disturbing perceptions of your boyfriend? To "warn" you of his impending doom? If so, they can alter your mind, but not simply tell you? What's the matter, they don't speak English? Haha.

Please listen to reason, and know that, we as humans can truly conjure up and live in fear of certain strange things - in fact that is a mechanism for human survival. HOWEVER, they are often totally irrational, made up fears, and are completely harmless to you, your boyfriend, or anyone else.

    Cheers!

  • Maybe it's just a residual haunting - basically a recording of an event that happened in the house a long time ago (like somebody dying in the bed) that replays itself over and over.

Imagine if the boyfriend was just playing around with you like when your sound asleep he puts a dummy in his place and when you wake up you think its him because its dark and when you run out of the room he quickly moves back into bed making you think its a ghost.

It sounds more like you're paranoid. It's okay, I am too.
