Mostly I'm for it. It's in everybody's best interest if ex cons are able find honest work. But there are probably certain jobs where these questions are appropriate. I'm not sure where to draw the line, but ideally it would be more focused on specific types of crime. Like you don't want an embezzler working with cash or a domestic abuser working with kids, but the reverse wouldn't necessarily be a problem.
Once a person gets into trouble, it's like they want to keep you there. I have family members that are virtually un-employable bcuz of this. The system is set up to throw these people away.
I believe there should be exceptions to certain employment that might increase their chances of reoffending.
Yes I agree, we should be rehabilitate them back into society but part of that rehabilitation is should be making them aware that there are unfortunately limitations to their choice of employment due to their past actions.
This is the one of the issues we have with reoffenders is that they are not aware of these limitations and have not been provided the means to make best of their situation.
I dunno, I don't have a criminal background. I certainly don't wanna work with a bunch of crooks.
so im sposta believe thays any peoples without criminal backgrounds in cali?
there must b a reason why states are starting to change laws about this regarding employment applications.
