What do you do for a living? do you enjoy it?

I'm a team assistant for the prince's trust, it's an organisation to help young peoples chances of employment and to build confidence ( so fuck knows how I got the job being the awkward person I am )

Well, I was on the course myself, didn't really say anything for the first two weeks then came out of my shell on the week team building exercise when we all snuck out went to the nearest town and got drunk, after that they couldn't shut me up, the leaders obviously saw something in me because as one of them was leaving they asked if I wanted to vonlenteer which recently led to a paid job.

I'm responsible for helping to interview candidates, plan activities, help with folder work, chat, the idea is to create a relaxed environmental tailored around each individual team on the course, sorting out transport money, arranging work experience and generally helping to provide a supportive environment, I also get to go to a week trip for the groups twice a year involving absailing, rapid rafting, high wires that sort of thing

Thing is, all the people on the course are around my age so as well as being shy and awkward for the first weeks of every course I also feel that they'll resent me for leading them when I'm their age, it's only my second team and first as a full employee but so far I feel extremely uncomfortable for the first week or two and mainly stick to paperwork, I get awkward and I leave the place feeling like the team find me weird and hateable, then I'll gain confidence, interact with the group a hell of a lot more, get to know each member and how they lean and just have a laugh, it's an extremely relaxed environment,

I don't feel I'm cut out for the job because of how I am for the first few weeks but surprisingly both the team members and leaders feedback is positive

I don't work at the moment because, I'm in the process of preparing for college. I'm going to try to find a job in the summer/volunteer in my prospective field.

I work in green transportation. I love the work. I help and encourage people to ride bicycles and use alternative means of transportation including alternative fuels. I keep up on legislation that effects transportation and help educate the public on what the highway lobby is doing.

I wear many hats in the office. The most important one is to sass the boss. I am the only one who can get away with yelling at the boss and have a slight chance that he will listen. I do a lot of writing and have a lot of conversations. Sometimes I have to research fraudulent people. That's kind of fun. And I often get to talk to cranky people and it's my job to make them happy. Oh, and I make sure we have coffee for everyone.

I work at the Food Court at Target. I've been there for almost a decade and I enjoy what I do. I don't ever want to leave.
