I hate writing papers more, because are more rules involved- you need to make sure your in-text references and reference list are perfect, that you properly format your paper to the appropriate referencing style, that you don't accidentally plagiarise, etc. Plus, it can sometimes be difficult and extremely boring to find really good peer-reviewed studies that are relevant to your research topic.
With exams, usually the only things you need to do are study the textbook and class notes. Plus, the marking standards tend to be lower because markers know how hard it is to write a really good essay or whatever in a short amount of time.
I rather study and take a test. I hate having to do research and cite my work. Tedious task in my opinion.
Papers. I do really well on exams, but I struggle with time management, especially when I have one big task, like a paper, which is hard for me to break up into smaller tasks.
term papers can be done on your own time, but exams have to be done in one setting with the teachers staring at you and making you uncomfortable.
Exams for sure. I think I only did one paper I loathed...all the others were a bonus because I learned something.
Because of my field of study, I rarely took exams. I always had term papers. I liked it that way.
