    I like our country, but not the people. I feel like most Americans are lazy, superficial, and washed up in their own lives. People don't take the time to spend with family, nature, and discovering their purpose. Or to learn about the politicians they are voting for. But they sure know when Kim Kardashian has a fashion blunder or who was traded to the New York Jets last year. I find it disappointing that we care so much about Hollywood and football, yet our country keeps laying off teachers, firefighters, and mental health counselors like it's no big deal. We were once a nation of patriots. Now we are a nation of cowards high on Zoloft and Paxil while watching reality tv in our homes. With a lot of things in them that have no real meaning.

      I agree, most Americans are sure as hell not what they used to be. But hey, at least there are no Islamic extremists suicide bombing shit all the fucking time. Atleast there are no random car bombs or landmines. Could be a lot worse than it is.

    Despite all of the problems we have, I love my country and I have a lot of faith that we can come together and rectify those problems.

    That said, Americans are by no means a homogeneous group. We have a large country full of diverse cultures so chances are, for every American you've met there are plenty of the opposite.

    I don't like the USA as a political power, although I can't think of any country with power I like.

    But I guess there are just as many nice, warm-hearted people in the USA as anywhere else in the world. And probably just as many douchebags.

    Is a person who is illegally residing in this United States of America, an American?
    What about a person who resides in this United States of America legally, but is not a citizen?
    What about a person who is a citizen of this United States of America, but now resides in another country? Did they suddenly stop being an American, when they emigrated?

    What is this "United States of America"?

    My neighbour is an Ojibwa. Is he a member of the Ojibwa Nation, a citizen of this United States of America, one or the other, both, or neither?
    Is he an "American"?

    I think that the majority of the people in my country are extremely unhealthy. Our politics are bad. I don't agree with the majority of things that this country has done in the past. Some Americans are extremely intolerant and some have beliefs that are so ridiculously religious that it borders on insanity. Some worship the flag as if it were "God". etc.

    When it comes down to it it really depends on the person.

    I have not met many Americans, seeing as I live in the UK and have not been in to the US. The ones I have met have seemed like perfectly nice people. Nevertheless I dislike the American culture and ideals. I think they value freedom and personal wealth over the safety and well being of society as a whole.

            I do apologize for my egostical American counterpart up there, we aren't the richest and such. Unfortunately, that doesn't matter. The US, Canada, Europe, and several others are all in bed with each other --It's a giant orgy really, all fat old guys who can't get it up arguing over who has the biggest uh... 'friend'-- Point is, they don't have our best interest in mind. So really, who cares who's bigger and badder?
