If you really loved a person, would you really care if they were a virgin?

A woman's virginity is her own choice. It's a big step for a girl to take.

And labeling her a slut for giving it up is a bit ... childish. You cannot determine one's entire sexual history from "virgin" vs "not virgin".

A non-virgin may have only had sex once and regretted it and decided to wait. Should she be labeled for that?

And a virgin could be the biggest slut ever, doing everything under the sun except losing her hymen.

I'd say stop worrying over whether or not another girl has her hymen and stop trying to judge her over it.

LOL. Here's the way I look at it. Always try your parachute out before jumping! Then again, I'd never by something permaneant if it didn't run right!.......

I have always let the chick be the wanter. She will let you know when she is ready. I'll given you a proven fact about what is going on in her mind. 1)..Her pupil will dilate 2)..Her nipples will show signs of firmness and 3).. Her lips will get a little sexy pouty look. All these signs do point to what she is thinking, it is natural and does it automatically. Notice her eyes will also stay more fixed directly looking back into your eyes when her mood is changing as you talk. This is true fact for the majority of the female sex.

you're talking about being physically ready.

i'm talking about being ready in more than just body. you can be physically ready to get into the sack but not be emotionally ready or mature enough to handle it.

I would like to know why the question is only about female virginity. Does nobody care if a male is virgin?

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Miss_Anthrope

Virginity as a concept is used to identify male kin for the purposes of bequeathing surplus wealth to kin. The only benefactors in the legal and social convention of "virginity" is men, never women. It restricts women's social rights and activities, as it's development intended originally.

Offspring lines are far more reliable and therefore reasonable when traced matrilineally (through women). It is telling that men are obsessed with accumulation and making sure it only goes to other men so that women can be controlled and used as pawns for deals and alliances.

Put in that proper light, virginity as a concept should be dropped. Since this concept is now mostly pushed by simplistic, childish religions and their myopic "doctrines," it's not hard to understand who continues to undermine women with such controlling, domineering ideas.

This kind of mindset can sort of be a dangerous thing. If someone ends up not being right for you, that's that. What if you save yourself, get married, and he ends up changing and becoming an alcoholic or abusing you or something?

That's obviously an extreme case, but don't let that sort of thinking trap you in an unpleasant relationship. Especially for a virgin or someone who's only been with one person, there's that mentality of "I'll never feel this way again"

You will, and as you develop your relationships with people you will have the meaning of love re and re defined. I've been there. It happened.

I think it's fucked up for women who have lost their virginity to be automatically labeled as a slut. But I believe it's just as (or even more) fucked up when people get so angry over others calling a girl who has had sex a whore, while they themselves say things like, "I wouldn't want a virgin because she'd be inexperienced." That's a pretty fucked up thing to say too because that virgin girl is being judged by her sexual choices. Which is the same thing that people get so angry over when a girl who has lost her virginity is called a slut.

It just seems like a double standard.

"Virginity" is not a "thing," merely an abstract concept. There's not even agreement as to whether the rupture of a hymen, ejecting a small amount of blood, can even be used to validate virginity. At best, it's a guess on the part of the "virginity tester" (yes, there is such a thing where backwards, restrictive, misogynistic cultures exist).

And is there a reciprocal test for males? A male can say anything he likes, he may or may not have had a sexual experience qualifying him as a "virgin."

And then there's how we qualify "sexual experience," too. Does oral sex count as sex? What about same-sex experiences?

And why is virginity thought of as something to be "kept" or "lost" or "given up?" It's an abstract construct, and not the same thing as if someone were asked to give up a kidney or have a finger amputated.

How about just thinking about the sexual experiences of women and men and stop using social constructs that meant to classify and commodify women? That would go a much further way to understanding who people are and stop "valuing" people on the basis of who has "used" their sex organs.

I'm disgusted that this question is being asked, and even more so that there are people who would only date 'virgins' (by their definition of the word).

I was wanting to post the same question. Thanks OP. See, I know people who actually think that a girl who doesn't save sex for her husband is a slut, and it scares me to death, because I really want to have sex with this guy, but we both know I could never marry him. I won't go into the reasons, but sometimes I think that no truly decent, conservative guy would go for me if I am not a virgin...so, comment on people!

Just do it. There really isn't anything that special about it, and the first few times are usually pretty bad for both people anyway. Mature people should not care about virginity.

It´s a ridiculous issue. I knew a girl which remained virgin (with her hymen intact) until marriage, but she performed blow job and anal sex with many guys. Another had vaginal intercourse once and only with one guy. No more. Which of them is more virgin?

I am currnetly 18, male, and virgin for myself. and believe it or not... I only know this one girl who is still virgin. (so I don't criticize girl for not being virgin; in fact, I don't even trust any girl to be virgin) although she has let others use their finger on her... twice... i really like her and i would prefer a girl to be virgin when she's marrying me.

"I don't even trust any girl to be virgin"

Does this mean that you think there are no more virgin girls your age? That if a girl says she's a virgin, you think she's lying?

I have just never heard that statement before and am really surprised that I did just now.

Not every girl over the age of 18 has lost her virginity. While it may be true that some women like to lie and tell her sexual partner that she's a virgin, doesn't mean that there aren't women out there who are actually being honest. It's not really about their virginity but about the fact that you wouldn't trust a girl if she told you she was a virgin.

Or did I read your statement wrong?

It is a very important thing. Also if you are going to have sex have it responsibly. To anyone who has ever been told by your boyfriend(unwed) if you do no have sex you do not love me DON'T! They are lying to get in your pants.

If someone loves you they will love you if you do them or not. They will love more not just your body. If you should think about the possibilities of pregnancy, STD and so on. Another thing is they have other ways to prevent pregnancy not just abortion.

So if you had like 6-20 something I do not think you are trying hard enough and you should probobly just get your tubes tied. Whats really is the point of having more dead fetuses when you could prevent the situation all together? Also that is not an exaggeration. I have read posts of women talking about how they have had this many abortions. From this website.

Virginity is something made up to make girls feel bad about their bodies. IT's not something to be relished over. I lost mine rather late in my life, and I always thought I was a total dweeb because of it...I wanted to lose mine...and I'm a girl. I think of it as a coming of age, or a rite of passage...not something that ruins a girl.

Virginity is there, then it isn't. Virginity is up to the person how and when to lose it. Virginity being lost has to be comfortable to the one person giving it up. Don't lose it from peer pressure or badgering insults.

Haha well not all guys are the same for one, and for me its a little bit of everything. The first thing I look at is there face actually and there feet. I think it kinda shows how they maintain themselves. Not always but sometimes. I've dated a few girls with ugly feet but there face and the rest of there body was pretty sexy. I just kinda threw the foot thing in there because I do notice them haha

I would guess that most females lose it by the age of 14 so there really isn't much a guy can do about it unless he's the one that did the deed.My first wife told me she was a virgin untill our wedding night then I found out she wasn't.Needless to say the marriage didn't last.It isn't easy to believe someone after you know they have lied to you, trust in someone is parramount for a marriage
to work. For two years before the wedding night I didn't try anything because she said she was a virgin, one would say I was one dumb gentelman. That's life and I learned a lession,if she says she's a virgin chanches are she ISN'T.

It is best to keep virginity for marriage. If that is not the case it is wrong but very few are in any position to throw stones, clean up your act and make sure you save the rest for your Husband.
