I've never had a dog before and i'm almost 30. What dog should i get ? I tend to like smaller dogs and dogs that show me affection

Things to consider
~Pee and Poop inside the house on the floor until house broken.
~Possible chewing up personal items
~Possible flees and ticks on the bed, couch, carpet etc.
~Increase Bills [Vet bills ain't cheap]
~Weekend trips or any long periods away from the house are over
~Boarding costs when/if you go on vacation
~Being woken up in the middle of the night [barking, peeing, crying etc]
~Food costs
~Possible holes in the yard
~Possible damage to garden, flowers etc
~Possible increased insurance costs
~Hair everywhere
~Home will begin to stink [smell like a kennel]
~Possible misplacing your Love which was meant for a human thus driving away human companionship
Get a Cat and 99% of this goes away.
You make really good points. Do cats need to be walked? Do they even go outside ?
Cats don't have to go outside or even be walked. They are self sufficient.
Some cats go outside but its really up to the owner and the cat...situational basis.
Weekend trips etc. just leave out food and water. Cat will poop and pee in the litter box and eat/drink what ever it wants. Its totally cool with being home alone...where as a dog would go nuts, tear up the house, crap everywhere, piss everywhere and probably starve to death because it will eat up all of its food the first day.
Dog, think of a perpetual 3 year old. Smart enough to be interesting, but too dumb to take care of itself and still totally needy 24/7.
Cats make great companions. They give love and affection as well as receive. They Live a long time and can protect you and the home just as good as or better than any dog. Plus they keep the house rodent free.
Get a German Shepherd. They have the advantages that they don't need a lot of exercise and they will KILL people that break into your house.
Maybe a chihuahua or min pin? I have a fully grown min pin/chihuahua mix and she's a total sweetheart. She loves to play, and to cuddle. She absolutely loves everybody (and everybody loves her, haha), as well as other animals. She'll literally jump up into a (nice) strangers lap and cuddle with them. She has never been aggressive toward anyone, and she has never barked at anyone... Well no, I take that back. I can think of two times where she let out 1 or 2 barks at a stranger, but that's extremely rare for her. For the most part, she's a very quiet dog. Her only flaw: she weighs only 5 lbs, so she's extremely fragile. I do wish she was 15-20 lbs bigger, but still, I wouldn't trade her for the world.
u can buy saint bernard. they are giant breeds and grow very fast .. some people say they are stupid breeds but it depends on how u gonna raise them just like humans kids.
