What gifts other than money do you give people for Christmas?
Clothes. Toiletries. Bags. Travel accessories. Stationery. Whatever they have that needs replacing. It seems like such a small thing but the most useful present a person could get me right now is a passport holder and some luggage tags. Or a USB keyboard with accented characters for when I need to work from home, because Alt codes don't work on Google Docs and copying and pasting accented characters of 'Inserting a Symbol' repeatedly when writing in my other language is an absolute pain in the backside.
Get them whatever they have said they want or need. Look at what bands, TV programmes and YT channels they follow and buy them merch. What do they like doing? Buy something connected to that. What's their job? What do they spend most of their time doing? Buy them something that will help them get the most out of that experience. Do you have any cherished memories of them, or and in-jokes? Something related to those.
Though online sellers are great for tech and fan merch, for other stuff I love brick-and-mortar shops like Menkind, Waterstones and T.K. Maxx. In-person shopping is really great for the variety factor, and the fact that you can see and try what you buy and ask people for recommendations and advice in real time, and you don't have to worry about if/when it will arrive and in what condition. The spontaneity and unpredictability of in-person conversations is great for sparking off ideas.
Nothing. I guess at most I'll give them candy or something. I don't really celebrate Christmas.
