I go to my fantasy world and act out different movie ideas I have in my head and end up staying up way to late. Then meditate and go to sleep.

The fact that there are currently no votes for having sex...
Says a lot to me about this site.
Most of which I already knew.

  • Dialogue from something I have watched/heard over and over again. If I don't have anything to distract myself, I just end up being a bit unstable.

Dialogues are tricky. Sometimes helps, but sometimes the conversations turn too intensive and "avoid" falling asleep

      • Which is why it has to be something I have watched/heard many times over to already know the dialogue and doesn't bring intensity.

I either fall asleep just like that, or I think about concept stuff. I like to design concept weapons, vehicles, devices... I think about how it would work, immagine it functioning and I relax and find myself in slumberland.

There are some cool sounds on youtube. I have one saved called rain on a tent or whatever but it seems to mellow me out. There are also videos if u put sleep story etc. I have to have some ambient sounds

If I don't immediately fall asleep then I usually just get up and walk around until I get tired enough to sleep.

I first play video games. Then turn it off. Then close my eyes and imagine what I shall do in the future. I also think about my "in progress love life about my friend".

It really depends on the night. My biggest help is getting into a routine at night. I exercise, brush my teeth, wash my face, stretch, and crawl into bed. If that doesn't work, there are a few options for me. If I am restless I masturbate or clean. Otherwise I do something that ill exhaust my mind- read, write, draw, study or fantasize.

      Your usual routine seems nice.
However, the part of masturbating and cleaning sounds funny. I mean, masturbating is very nice and cleaning too..., but too different things to both help you to sleep.
Anyways, if they help you, it is cool.

Cleaning is just therapeutic to me. I like to organize things a lot, so putting things away where they belong help my mind clear. Masturbating helps my mind clear if it is full of very specific thoughts. ;)

My routine usually involves shutting down all electronic devices right before bed, taking some melatonin and then going to bed.

Electronic devices are so useful and harmful at the same time!

I like to have a fan/heater on to make whitenoise,
and usually when I am trying to sleep, I daydream about simple stuff like reading text, or about people sleeping as well.

If that doesn't work, then I will take some Nyquil.

I usually don't have problems getting to sleep but if I do, I stay on the computer until I'm tired enough to lay down.

Either the booming sounds of Coldplay coming from my flatmate's bedroom, the drunken chorus of the Fratellis' "Chelsea Dagger" from upstairs, or the sound of some girl, somewhere in my earshot, loudly having sex.

Oh wait, things that help me *fall asleep*!? Hm, I can't think of any of those.

Well I share a room with my brother. What usually ends up happening is that we end up talking about something. Maybe I'm half asleep, maybe I'm not. Or maybe he's the one who's half asleep. I can't just get into bed and lay comatose. So a conversation usually tuckers me out. Although lately falling asleep has been difficult but it's 4am as I type this and my eyes are heavy. But if I try to sleep at around midnight all that ends up happening is I just stay looking up at the ceiling, running imaginary scenarios in my head, until finally 2hrs later I fall asleep.

      You have your own "ritual".
It is nice it helps you.

Eh, not always. It's not really a ritual, just boredom. My brother and I share a room so we pretty much just chat, since we're both bored, sleepy, and can't sleep if it's too quiet. Hence why the fan in our room is always on.
