What is it like to have a therapy dog?

The dog asks you to lay on a couch & recall childhood experiences while it sits in a chair taking notes.

what do you mean by "therapy" dog? do you mean service/assistance dog? there's a lot of different terms depending on what you mean such as service dogs, emotional support dogs and therapy dogs which are all different and have different allowances/restrictions. service or assistance dogs (depending on where you live people either use the term service or assistance" are dogs trained to alleviate someones disability by knowing at least one task that helps their disability, whether physical or mental and are legally allowed to go out in public with the handler to places that otherwise wouldn't allow pet dogs.

emotional support dogs are similar to assistance/service dogs, however are not legally allowed to go to places like shops/restaurants as they are still considered a pet and do not have the same rights a service/assistance dog has. they are just there for emotional support.

therapy dogs are used for more than one person, so examples being a therapy dog is used to visiting hospitals to see sick patients or children to improve their mood or therapists/psychologists could have their own therapy dog that their patients can interact with while in a session.

depending on your disability and how severe it is a service dog can literally be lifesaving to some people and a very great help.

I knew a nigga named Phillip. Dat nigga was whack coz of da aids he got from da hood hoes. Da nigga doctor told him to get a therapy dog. Those mothafuckas are expensive. Phillip eventually found a place that sells therapy dogs fo real cheap. Da mothafucka bought two so he could be fixed twice as fast.
Unfortunately fo Phillip these weren't therapy dogs.. These were The Rapy dogs.
