People are just going to vote for where they live.

Because, I mean, seriously, who in their right mind would want to live in America? High crime, bad educational system, bad healthcare... the list goes on!

I didn't vote for where I live, but I still love my country!

I agree with your statement on the United States. It's a hopeless country, who has to notice that there are other countries in the world. There is a such thing as too much patriotism, and they should note that their turn as the world's superpower is up.

South-Africa , the views are incredible. And you get very cheap labourers to help out. I'm a child and I have no chores at all , I don't make my bed and there is millions in South-Africa like me. On the bad side the crime is sky high and racism is everywhere ( but its funny for me tho . Coz our president said if we whites don't vote for his party then we aint Christians lolol ) and we don't pay tax on alchohol haha !!!

Er...that's not entirely true (about the alcohol). There is a tax...unless of course you're getting home brew.

On the other hand, I do agree with you about the views and countryside. There's not another place like it in the world! And the food...such a great offering of delicious, fresh and wholesome foods available, especially quality fruit juices. That's one of the things I miss the most (yes, I'm sure that sounds odd, but there's nothing better then SA'can fruit juices). Mmmm...and Simba Chips! And now I want a garage pie and vetkoeker and Koeksuster and and and...!

not the US. a great place to immigrate to 100 years ago. not now. for what's best, you need to define what's important to you. making money in a specific field, keeping your money, healthcare, weather, recreation, crime tolerance, culture, arts, prostitutes...

I assume that you don't know that much about American history- being an immigrant in America was absolutely god awful a hundred years ago. The working class was paid literally nothing- ESPECIALLY if you were an immigrant, women still couldn't vote, there were many episodes of people going on strike and joining unions because they thought their work conditions were unfair... and that usually never ended well.

Immigrants who came to this country illegally today probably have it better off than immigrants who came here legally a hundred years ago.

I live in Canada, and always have, but if I could pick anywhere to live, it would be Ireland or Sweden. They're beautiful countries, and I love their languages! Hej då.

The countries which repeatedly top the quality of life indexes are Sweden, Finland, and New Zealand. I adore all three and would more than happily live in any of them.

I have always lived in Finland, so I don't have any valid opinions on other countries.

However, Finland is a very good place to live (IMO). At least it's quite safe to live here.

    • I currently live in Australia - I really don't see what's good about it.

  • My only criteria are:

    1. It must be a predominantly cold climate.

    2. There must be vast stretches of wilderness for woodsmen such as myself to frolic in.

    3. You must be able to own guns.

Based on that, it is a draw between the U.S.A., Canada, Russia, or Scandinavia.

I like where I am. I like other places too. My friends and family aren't in those other places so the quality of life really can't be that much better for me.
