What is the highest purpose of human existance?

Hello to all of you in the is it normal community. I have posed a very lofty philosophical question, pondered by enlightened Renaissance thinkers even now in the 21st century. Many of you will rise to the occasion. Can you break out of your perverted and lewd mindsets?

Of course, all the choices are important. But pick the one that you would allocate an extra 10% of resources to, and leave a comment below please.

To spread life to new planets in our galaxy. 10
To rid civilization of poverty, disease, and war. 8
To accelerate the acquisition of scientific knowledge. 7
To educate all people, and end wealth inequality. 6

I wish it were any of these, but unfortunately humanity is only good at destroying everything in its path, what a pathetic planet we are.

Highest purpose: Creation. (From cities to children to cultures et cetera.)
Most Common Purpose: Destruction. (War, violence, crime, murder, et cetera.)

We are merely a form of "life". Life itself has a higher purpose which is to fill all voids. Human intelligence can help speed this process.

I think the true meaning of humanity is to realize our full potential and break out of this cycle of self destructive behavior. There are many elements in our current society that are purposely preventing us from doing this in order to exploit us for financial gain. We already have the blueprints to ascend. We have the archetypes to help us understand what we are meant to evolve into. I'm talking about the Buddahs, Jesus, and many others that share commonalities. Humans are extremely powerful beings, and who knows how powerful we could become if we were released from our prisons of negativity.

To rid the planet of false religion, and glorify the scientific method.

"Modern" science in itself is nothing but a false religion that is used by those who would want to exploit us and imprison us with boundaries.

Seems to me that science does not have any boundaries. Nor is it a religion. Science doesn't care what you think, only the way in which you analyze experimental data.

I don't think human existence has an external purpose, i.e. a purpose which was assigned to us.

Now, an internal purpose is far more interesting. It is a purpose which we assign to ourselves. I think it should be to increase wellbeing of all creatures as far as possible as quickly as possible.
Obviously, we are struggling mightily under this challenge at the moment, and have struggled for as long as we have existed.

We live for the future existence. So that the government can continue to control our kids and their kids.

I just can't imagine that there is a higher purpose to human existence. We are just a freak of evolution, nothing more. We live, we procreate, we die, like every other living thing. Hopefully it's a good life, full of happiness and love.

If we are simply material beings made of atoms and composed of nothing more than that (time+matter+chance), why would it matter that we live 'a good life, full of happiness and love'?

Doesn't the quality of the life you have matter to you at all?

Of course it does matter to me... and to you.

But if you believe you are simply composed of atoms and nothing more (i.e. a belief or world view of absolute materialism) why in a bigger sense does it matter at all that you live a good life?

          Comment Hidden ( show )
    • For many it's a life of poverty, disease, and war.
