What is the worst advice someone has given you?

Stay with what you married. We were married but married and miserable. We ended up ending it.

My mother told me that I would find as I grew up and went out into the world, if I was nice to everyone everyone would be nice to me .... WRONG.

Have a beer and smoke a joint or two hangout with the cool kids for once and let loss.🙄

When I was little I was terrified of monsters, mainly because my brother would scare me about the Yeti all the time.

So one night I told my dad that I didn’t want to go to sleep because I kept having nightmares about monsters.

Instead of saying, like a sane and normal person, “Oh monsters aren’t real, they can’t hurt you, don’t worry, xyz”

He said, roughly translated, “You aren’t imagining those monsters, you must have met them at some point while awake. Pay attention to where they are in your dreams, so you can avoid them in real life.”

That was the beginning of my paranoia and sleep disorder :)

I don't know, because if someone gives me crappy advice I just play dumb, and ignore the person. This is relatively easy to do with narcissistic persons, because if you can get them to talk about themselves they will most likely forget about the bullshit advice they were trying to give you.

I don't think I have ever been given advice in my real life.

Idk I don't think I have any because I just don't listen to stupid advice. I often go to multiple sources before making a decision.
