In other words, what is your purpose for being here on Earth? What motivates you to stay alive? Or is there no reason at all and you're only here because you can be for as long as you want/have the capability to?

I'm here because the alternative is absolute nothingness, and consciousness is so much more exciting.
There is no inherent purpose; it's a blank page to fill with whatever scribbles and doodles of life you want.
I love my friends and family, but they are definitely not my reason to live. My reason to live is derived from myself. I live to think, and I live to do. Learn about the world I live in in the broadest possible sense, developing values - think. Contribute positively to it according to those values - do. I live to fulfill and enrich myself. The experience of life is all we have, and if we don't live we have nothing.

I am on earth. There could have easily been a million other people in my place, but no, it was me. I am going to pursue all of the pleasures of life, and also try to improve the crappier parts of this planet, the lives of those around me, as well as hopefully be a part of new scientific advancements.
I should really take self defense classes.
I am here to have a really great time. To experience EVERYTHING life has to offer, good and bad, and in the end, go out on my own terms, with no regrets for things I didn't do.

Im not here to make any one happy, to not make any one feel any kind of way. Im not here for anything stupid. I value life more important than gold or owning your own country or owning half of the world.

People are born to help the species survive or flourish. If you cant do that you must find your own purpose. I live only to serve mankind in some manner and if I cant fix the worlds flaws I do not deserve to live on earth. I have no real purpose. I must serve mankind and if not I must die. Its as simple as that. I in the past tried to attach myself to someone I could serve but they ended up moving and my world collapsed in that persons absence. However whenever I tell people this they think I am insane or just stupid for thinking so.
Its not like any of us chose to be alive or born so if i had to chose why i still havent killed myself i want to say its to help people around me. if i was living life for no reason i would just kill myself and wouldnt miss any of it. living for no reason just seems like such a boring waste of time. if i do something it goes away and means nothing if i do something important that is never forgotten im jus going to be judge for all eternity BOOOORINNGGGG.

been wondering this lately..rather depressing really.. i can't think of a reason. only reason i do anything is to please others. and not in an altrustic sort of way.. just because i have nothing else to do, and i wouldn't want to disappoint the nice people like my family, even with something like dying.
I don't think anyone person is here for a set reason, as you say many people create their own reasons, personally I don't have one, I'm fine with that though it means I can search for my own
Well, my parents made me. I grow up. I study.
Next thing is to make money and have a family of my own.
Guess I live for a happy family life and a wealthy lifestyle.
