What is your thoughts on people who draw serial killers?

Well, I've been on DeviantArt for years now, and I've seen many drawings of real serial killers such as Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy, etc.

Some of the drawings are serious and really well made,
but others are, well, a bit funny, you know, like Jeffrey Dahmer being together with Ted Bundy, and stuff like that.

For me, I don't really care, if a person wants to draw that kind of stuff then let them.

What is your thought on this?

    There's no wrong. Some people are scared and want to avoid it. But the truth is, knowing about them and that they exist through any form of media/art is good. They need to be postered as "fairytales" were in the old days, to warn people that they are, and always will be, out there.

        Why the hell would we give a fuck what they draw? They draw serial killers. They are people after all. So it would be challenging to draw them. You are being rather judgmental. Now if its kids being raped all over the place ok I could see maybe that offending people. Also those murderers if you learned about them WERE GAY! So of course they would make jokes about them. Jeffrey wanted to rape men and eat them. So its not like it isnt accurate.

          How am I being judgemental? Personally, I said that I was neutral to it, and in fact, I've seen some very good drawings of serial killers. Unless, you were talking to someone else?

            Oh, you mean about seeing drawings of Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy together?
            Again, I personally don't care about that either, I guess I should of explained it a bit better.

    I draw the joker. It's pretty much the same thing. There's nothing wrong with it. Art is art. No matter how strange.

    Some people are just strange to other people.
    Who in their right mind could imagine that ANYONE would have followed Adolph Hitler into the hell he created on earth and now, more than 60 years later, he is still revered by so many. A fucking jew who murdered 6 million jews, plus a million or so catholics, but we won't bother to mention THAT in the history books, will we.
    I am completely baffled by humanity's strangeness; serial killers with fans? So often the media turns these monsters into cult heroes just to make money and the populous buys into it so easily.
    This earth would truly be the proverbial "garden of Eden" if humanity was wiped out. Humanity has learned nothing in the several million years that it has been sentient on this planet, except how to kill, maim and destroy more efficiently.

    I believe that people should draw whatever inspires them and not be judged for it. So if people want to draw pictures of serial killers, I say let them. I think differing tastes in the art world are what makes things interesting.

    Who cares? Draw whatever you want. But watch out because some serial killers might come hunt you down if they find out you're drawing them.

    the serial killer fanaticism is all over deviant art, i noticed. i found this out actually when looking at the blog of someone i had a thing for at the time.
    it's got a "cool" factor; the serial killer fascination has gained a following in the anime/cosplay crowd. That would explain the fanfic.

    It is normal to have a fascination with the macabre. And serial killers are not as taboo as say, mass murderers or sex offenders. They are thought of as living monsters or demons, which makes their existence seem fantastical, much like fictional characters in books, movies, cartoons and comics
