Everyone gets here for a reason (other than that YouTube channel sootsomething video).
Many leave and a handful stay for a while. My question is, why are you still here?

I feel that this is a good site where you'll get straight forward honest answers over all the bullshit in life, little or big, that me and many others deal with, sometimes regularly. I do try to dodge the trolls on this site though, but you'll find them on any site now.
I'm so sorry. I've been dreading that moment in my life when it eventually comes to be. You are a good son and father to the pup!
Sorry to hear about your mom. It sucks. I took care of my mom for 2 years after she got cancer. She died the day after this past Christmas. The last week and a half of her life was very difficult. It's heartbreaking. spent Christmas Eve & Christmas Day at her bedside watching her die. You have my sympathies.
I'm so sorry about your mom, as well. Although nowhere near watching a parent die I've had a beloved doggy companion pull the same on me on Christmas' Eve/Day 2 years before... she was family to me. But I really don't mean to compare it, I apologize if it sounds like it.
I have a question for you. Apparently you've been consistently here, do you feel there has been a "Golden Age" here? I've seen it mentioned a few times... btw, your username has always been one of my favorites - if not the favorite ever! Yes, it's my very favorite! (I remember it was what someone called you on FB, if I'm not mistaken)
Apparantly there was a golden age of intelligent people before I got here and I came around the time it was tapering off. Though I think there was another one around like 2013 or 2014: Everyone here knew who everyone was, everyone seemed more open with each other, and we all joked and laughed about a lot of things. That's the time I miss. Most of those people are gone now, either due to other people ruining it for them or just them simply moving on. They were cool people. I take it you've been here a few years too?

Thank you. Yeah, it was my animal abusing cousin on Facebook who thought the word would be an offensive insult. XD
I usually leave and come back in intervals based on how busy my life is, but its entertaining. This isn't like tumblr, facebook, or reddit where the same types of people are encountered again and again. There's different demographics on IIN, and it's interesting to see how we mix together and get along (or disagree).
I stay because I like knowing how to change by people's judgements on my secretive things I wouldn't tell anyone I knew in person. It a way to get free judgement without much embarrassment.
All my friends went so did I, I still stalk you all though from behind the curtains.
Unmoderation is the reason for me. Besides that the site is not all that well made.
It entertains and amuses me, plys sometimes o hqbe questions and awnsers
I come on and off because it can be interesting and I can help people every now and then
She was 14, nearly made it to 15 as she was born on New Year's Eve! (Party girl she was!)
And, yes, she was the only other member of my household, so it was hard... but I survived! Thank you :)
What made me stay? I'm not entirely sure. I used to get a certain enjoyment/satisfaction from this website. Here, there was a particular sense of community that was different from other websites, and I liked to try and be helpful when I could. I enjoyed making people laugh when I could and tried to share any insights I might have. Participating here I think has helped me focus less on the things that were making me unhappy. So, when it comes down to it, I guess there is still some dissatisfaction I am trying to deal with in my real life.
What made you stay, OP?
I didn't really stay - I just came back after many years! (TBH, I'd completely forgotten about the years I spent here for all this time!!!) It surprised me to find myself here and wanting to find that same sense of community that I liked then! We all belonged here! And forged relationships we wouldn't have otherwise.
I came back by whatever reason and have been here less than a week but I seem to feel home again. Weeeeeeird.... hahaha

I learn a lot of from the internet. I get a lot of my information from Reddit, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, IIN, Quora, etc
I love hearing what people have to say, and who knows I could learn a thing or two?
