What makes people auto assume that a post is a troll post?

How does it start and how long does it take for a person to realise the person is trolling?

Is it when people say things to deliberately anger someone?

( I am no means a perfect person, yes I have troll posted at some points to the point where people have given me tons of flack and no I will not deny that I also troll posted I am sure other people on this site has troll posted at least at some point themselves well at least some users. )

Now before you probably start flaming more at me, there's my question.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

*Extreme, one-sided views on hot-button issues - usually political.

*Posts criticising or defending a person or body that represents ONE SIDE of a hot-button political issue (in order to get people to attack or defend it).

*Needlessly explicit, sexual stories with no apparent question behind them.

*Almost anything scatological, or about fetishes.

*Random harmless but inane posts with no point or question attached to them.

*Anything written in language so densely erroneous that it's not even trying to be intelligible.

*Anything that produces a 'gut' reaction of outrage because it is so unusually repulsive that you question how many human beings in the world can statistically be like that and thus start doubting that this OP is the Real McCoy.

*'Meta' troll posts designed to send up the trolls.

*Most posts with the word 'cock' or 'pussy' or 'ass' in them.

    I could go on...

I agree with some title red flags being “cock” “pussy” and “ass”, but you forgot “sissy clitty”!

When it reads like badly written fetish erotica with “is it normal?” tacked on the end in a miserable attempt to disguise their femdom/cock sucking/ *insert clichéd fetish here* fantasy as a question.

Lol this is so true. They'll also pretend to be the opposite sex to get off on it.

  • If it seems like it's obvious someone is portraying a persona that's provocatively controversial

Some people you can tell are two dimensional about it; they write their post, people are outraged, and they slap the troll face meme on it and call it done

Others, though, can do it for the enjoyment of those paying attention, where they're not really looking for the people to shame them but rather people who see the bigger picture. Like someone's pretending to be a sitcom director or something

I think I like that last paragraph but I am not sure if I get what you mean. Do you mean people who are writing to create a situation and observe how people behave in response, or people who are writing to emulate a certain kind of person, in order to draw the reader's attention to an issue that lies at the heart of that figure's concerns?

      • Yes, the latter. I can't really put it into words because the markers are there for lying and deception, which are bad, but there's something about the way some people do it that makes it good

Like this scene here, she just showed Sansa she can lie to her and she'll never know but it's still making her laugh

Like some people will troll as like an asshole I've seen and just play up the whole "I've already formed my opinions, everybody else is wrong" shtick and it's funny. Like it's not that actual person making the post, it's someone making fun of the mentality it takes to be that much of an ass

It's when people don't read the Community Guidelines that they assume posts to be trolls.

No, it's when people are capable of independent thought.

      You know. Unlike cult robots.

I don’t know if there is really a good way to tell if someone is trolling. I guess if a post is so incredibly far fetched and ridiculous people may assume it’s trolling, but you’d be surprised at how many people on this site actually aren’t trolling. There are some weird people on the internet.

Many of my true posts have been called troll posts and it's fucking annoying. How people determine whether something is a troll post seems to be whether it's actually something unusual. Damn this site used to be so much more interesting. But now all you get are "is it normal to want to suck dick?" or "is it normal to like Korean food?" But no when someone like me posts something eccentric that is ACTUALLY weird and actually true (like my post about being attracted to tornadoes and married to one, which is 100% serious) people just call me a troll. And I'm not even lying either, it's like my whole existence.
