What's the longest you've ever stayed awake?

After tonight, this will be my third day, a personal record. I'm not trying to set a record or anything I'd rather not be in this situation. I've procrastinated and managed my time terribly this semester. The last two nights and tonight, I'm staying up to catch up on imminently due schoolwork. You're probably wondering how I can actually focus on anything in this condition. I've been on ADHD stimulants since I was nine, that's what's allowing me to do this. That, and going far beyond the prescribed amount. I'm not worried about addiction, I honestly don't know how anyone can get addicted to this stuff, it's so unpleasant in large amounts. But either way, I know it's terribe for the mind and body. I'm trying to develop some new strategies to better discipline myself, so that I don't end up boxing myself into these stupid and pointless situations. If I could only make myself do schoolwork/studying regularly, this wouldn't be happening. It's harsher on the brain and body than only staying up 3 days. Amphetamine derived are very potent, my mind should be operating on 20% right now, but because I took a chemical shortcut, I'm probably at 70 or 80. more than anything, I feel it in the cardiovascular system. I'm 21, 5'10, and 165 lbs; the simple act of walking up a short flight of stares causes my bpm to go to probably 200. Right now, as I sit here, my resting heart rate has got to be around 160. Earlier, I made a calculated decision to go a third night without sleep in order to complete an important assignment due tomorrow. Occasionally, I think there are brief black blips of small, vague shapes on the corner of my visual field too. I'm aware I've strayed off the question's original focus, but I don't give a shit.

Longest without stimulants: around 149 hours.
Longest with the use of drugs: around 8 days, during which I completed a year-long amount of work.

Staying awake is normal, but unhealthy and whats the point of working so hard for the future if you are killing your future with your lifestyle. Never the less there have been a record of some people staying awake for a whole 2 months and even more on hardcore caffeine, but most of them die young, one of them died at 49, and some die even younger. A healthy lifestyle with balanced diet and good sleep can gain someone a lifespan up to 90+ years, but anything can still happen and one can die just the next day due to a car accident or something regardless of age. But the point is life is too short, so there is no use to cause yourself to suffer and live a life of misery. Infact a good sleep keeps the brain fresh and will give you a better working brain when you study and 2 hours of studying with good sleep is equivalent to 12 hours of studying without sleep, from my experience. But again oversleeping is bad, atleast 9 hours would keep you active throughout the day...

Somewhere between 24 and 48 hours. I did it when I was in my early twenties and wanted to see if I could stay awake for two days. By the second night my mind felt hyper and I ended up crashing on the living room floor in the early hours of Sunday morning. I haven't tried it again since though lol.

Did this when I was 15. Goal was a week, but only made it 6 days. Secret is to do very little, relax, and not to stress yourself. Its a time where you will use very little brain activity, so don't do it when you have to do real life things.

A lot of people don't believe me, and you can see that by the polls for Trump.

        • True, amphetamine and anorexia would go hand-in-hand.

3 days and a half due to insomnia. In that time I smoked a half O, cleaned my house 9 times, and had a killer streak on COD.

3 days or so due most often to opiate withdrawal. When I stopped opiates permanantly, it was a few weeks before I could sleep even semi normally. I only managed an occasional short nap here and there in those weeks. It was hell. So dopesick that I was unable to even drink alcohol just to pass out. I tried...trust me I tried...but I could not take a single sip without puking instantly.

Four days due to a mix of insomnia and an upper respiratory infection. It was not one of my happier moments.
