What's wrong with my dog?????

I'm looking after my mothers' chihuahua while she's in hospital. She left this morning to have major surgery on her spine (She could potentially die.)

Well the dog, seems to know somethings up, and it's creepy! She's been howling like a wolf. That same mournful cry you get on a full moon, where the wolf tilts it's head back up into the air.

I wouldn't of thought that a chihuahua, that far descended from wolfs, would act that way, especially since I've never really considered chihuahuas dogs!

Is this normal? Has anyone else had pets acting this way?

    The little annoying POS wants attention. Get a piece of duct tape and tape his mouth shut!

    Chihuahuas were kept as food animals by the Aztec Indians. They roasted them like small pigs or possums! Just a thought in case you get hungry!

    LOL My dog was a Shitzu and my friend had a chihuahua which tried to hump my dog unsuccessfully and the chihuahua began howling and crying with tears literally falling from it's eyes because he couldn't. It was so weird yet hilarious every since I've thought chihuahuas to be quite strange lol..

    my dad told me all the time while i was gone my cats kept crying then he told me it sounded like they were fighting and i know they do do that.
