  • My favorite "online" games would probably be first person shooters, such as Halo, Dead Island, etc.

My favorite offline games would probably be either Open world games with large variety and control to make your own individual character (Skyrim, etc) or games such as The Walking Dead where you make choices and it effects your later story line.

There was another poll like this recently but I'll mention again that my favorite are bullet hells. They aren't brought up a lot but nothing else gives me as much thrills as those.

Did you ever play the game called Black for PS2?

Nope, however I didn't mean first person shooters, I meant games like Touhou and Ikaruga that plays like old school 2D shooters but the screen is filled with bullets and you have to dodge them all.

          Wouldn't that fall under arcade?

It might since today, many people use the term "arcade" for simple pick up and play games even if it wasn't originally on an arcade machine, especially shooter-like games but not all shooters are bullet hells so I felt the need to specify that type. Super R-Type is an arcade-like shooter for example but definitely not a bullet hell game.

I wouldn't really consider "Indie" as a genre.

First of all, scifi is not a genre but a topic, same goes for horror and survival, fps, indie, life simulation (it is only simulation, life is a topic as well), sports.

You are too small to realize what is the difference between topic and genre, let alone type and use internet creepy site such as this.

There are 6 genres I know of.
    Adventure
    Action
    RPG
    Simulation
    Strategy
    Casual

    There are also mixtures.

But anything apart from this is a TOPIC

Do some research before you ask a question such as this dummy head.

pretty much any genre if it's cute and/or funny, in a classic way. for example the only shooter game I like is GTA4 (not of the other GTAs so far) because good/funny story line and.. ehm.. cute main character... only racing game i like- Re-volt (which I found it also online, and an arcade game!) again cute and funny (racing toy cars!) My top favorite games are the Katamari (PS2 series only) and Animal Crossing. so, there is really no one genre i like.. unless "sandbox" counts
