I just finished reading Uzumaki. (If you haven't read it and you like horror or manga then check it out!) So, I'm in a horror kind of mood. Books, games, movies, it doesn't matter.

The horror genre doesn't scare me. Real things scare me. Like gonorrhea or not preparing for retirement.
I prefer the genres that branch off of or outlie the horror genre to horror itself. I was addicted to horror and thriller films in jr. high, but I soon started finding them all too predictable and not scary enough. I found that what really got me hooked was the dark, brooding aesthetic of the films, and not the jump scares or gore. Now I quite like penny dreadfuls, pulp fiction, films noir, psychological thrillers, hard-boiled detective stories, surrealist horror, ghost stories, urban legends, cozy mysteries, and classic gothics, etc.
I don't think they make Horrors the correct way... because it's really not scary. at least not for me.
I have watched one Horror that I quite liked though...but it was just more freaky, not scary. it had these blue children in that were supposed to be evil spirits.. and they make this awesomely fucked up noise with their mouths :'D
Wait!! Oh oh oh! I just remembered the name of that movie!
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.
No...now I am doubting the name.. maybe that was the one where that mexican dude got possessed and hurt the doggy on the ceilings. that movie was stupid and lame.
Anybody? The movie about the blue people? And don't say Smurfs, whichever wisearse was thinking to do so :|
In the blue people movie the asian chick booked herself into that building.. and a little girl had severe asthma.. and she left toys outside the door for the little blue boy
The gratuitous sex scenes...... Nahh i just said that for the prevert quota
But monsters i like. As someone that grow up on Godzilla, and has a half jap, it's ingrained into me at this point
