The full version of The Stand by Stephen King and The Shadow Over Insmouth by H.P Lovecraft
Manga: Pretty much anything with a good and complicated plot, drawing style just doesn't have to be before the 90'ies drawing styles. My current favorites are "noblesse", "twelve nights", "the gamer" and "The Breaker — new waves".
Novels: Romantic fantasy (no matter how cliché) and health/biology-related novels. Current favorite is "Cancer is not a disease — it's a survival mechanism" by Andreas Morits and Stephenie Meyer's "The Host".
I don't really read magazines, but I love internet articles, and especially love health and lifestyle improvement related topics and news on the whole world.
Probably Kurt Vonnegut, Ursula Le Guin, Adam Cadre, or bell hooks, I guess.
The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, especially the City Watch books.
My favorite novel is Ranger' s Apprentice series and Brotherband series by John Flanagan.
My favorite manga is "Death Note" and "Monster".
My favorite Magazine is Legendary Times Magazine and Nat geo Magazine.
Many famous authors that you were forced to read in high school usually have some decent works worth exploring. I wasn't a huge fan of 'Of Mice and Men,' but I found that Steinbeck's East of Eden is pretty alright. It's extremely long, but not written in a way that really makes you feel its length. I'd also recommend any of Orwell's novels that aren't 1984 or Animal Farm. Burmese Days is terrific.
