What's your opinion on the london riots?

London is currently in chaos. People are destroying buildings, setting fires, abusing the police and local families. Despite their claims they seem to have no motivation other than to entertain themselves via destruction of public and private property.

What do you think?

It is wrong but the police can handle it with current powers 8

    It is completely and utterly wrong, people have the right to protest but this isn't protesting! This is an excuse to act like a criminal. How can you say you are rebelling against the rich and the governement when you're stealing from small bussiness and setting people's homes alight? It's a recession, everyone is facing hard times.

    There is just no justification for that kind of behaviour.

      I dunno if you people live in england but I do. 95% the people involved in the riots where what we here call "Chavs" a.k.a "Scumbags" It wasn't a protest at all. It was alot of scumbags turning up for a good ol' jolly up and to see if they could get some new toys for free outta the shops.

    I completely agree with smartasscookie!

    They think looting will harm the government?! The only people they're harming is themselves through damaging their communities and people's livelihood! Even though in the long run, they'll be the ones who suffer!!

    These people are trying to protest against the police, by being criminals:/? Don't really see how that results in anything good. And it would be a completely different story if one of the rioters family or friends were murdered, who would they turn to then?

    I wouldn't want to anyone hurt or threatened (governing figures included)There may be many people out there who hate the government, but it was our own people that were hurt and suffered. but I think most of us saw them coming though. x

    Against the government? Did government own all those burned buildings, cars and stuff? Were all the injured bystanders working for the government?
